One thing stood out to me as I watched the different regionals last weekend.

I know I am :beatdeadhorse: but I think we should be promoting the LSU brand instead of oysters and seasonings.

This post isn't necessarily beating a dead horse. It's just fricking stupid.

I definitely noticed that as well and agree. The LSU staircase should be prominent behind the catcher right where Tony Cherrerigans is.

Other teams don't have a choice - nobody wants to use them as an advertising vehicle since they have no fan base.

if we did that then houston might have felt like it was a road game.

Wow... We are the only school that doesn't have a hand rail installed on the stairs in the middle?

As long as the revenue is worth it, I'm all for the ads.

But OP is right, we need a sharp LSU logo in their next to that sloppy Tony Chachere ad.

Didn't notice that. Wonder if those stadiums just changed it up for the tourney or if they are like that year round.

All of the other stadiums you showed are part of athletic departments that rely on student fees and state funds. LSU does not, therefore it needs to find revenue elsewhere. I'm sure if you'd like to write Alleva a massive check in the amount of all of those sponsors he would take it and we could have a nice clean backstop.

I've just never cared for the Ole Miss layout. All the other parks look like major league seating, but Ole Miss looks like a softball stadium with that huge padded backstop. Just looks odd.

Ours looks better than all of them. Those watching know it's LSU, do you think they care about our brand and whether the backstop only has LSU on it?

one thing I take from this, I see empty seats in those pics none in the alex box pic.

it is pitiful that some of these teams host regionals but can't fill up their stadiums for the host team games. LSU has no issue with that.

I have owned a business for many years so I understand the concept of maximizing revenues. However, I would think LSU could sacrifice 30-60 feet of ad clutter on the backstop to present a cleaner, classier look representative of the top baseball program in the nation.

The eye of the Tiger in Tiger Stadium is unique and sets us apart from any other place in college football. None of us would tolerate a COX or McD logo on the 50 yard line competing with the eye of the Tiger. Yet, that's what we've done in Alex Box .

How about this in place of the classified ads on the backstop?
