With new and improved food truck laws and more available permits, a new wave of food trucks have hit the city in the past few months. While there's certainly still room for more trucks to roll out— with lots of local round ups, an official monthly truck night recently getting approval in Fat City and a permanent truck lot planned for Central City— recent additions to the scene include vendors specializing in Shawarma kabob, crepes, wood fired pizza, and even Jamaican cuisine. Here are seven newer trucks worth seeking out now. (And as always, truck schedules vary from day to day and are often affected by inclement weather, so do check Facebook and Twitter feeds before heading out.)

I've heard from a couple folks that St. Clair Woodfire Pizza is legit.

Had Guideaux's once outside of Kingpin .. meatballs were eh.

Theo's food truck...

Anybody eaten any of these yet?

Kabob sounds pretty good right about now.

I've never had real Jamaican food or any that's been worth a damn. I might try to check that truck out.

I had Guideaux's before they launched. I fixed something on the truck for him.
I haven't had them again.
It was good, just never seen them.

I'm a food truck whore and am always glad to see new trucks in the neighborhood. I'm pretty sure the Theo's truck is just for events so I don't expect it to be out front a watering hole. I did like the short bus pasta truck the two times I had it but I Mardi Gras drunk both times.

What new laws? Are they going to actually allow food trucks downtown during the week?

My buddy had St. Clair the other day and said it was good. On a related note, how is that Dolce Vita place doing?

They were outside Milan St Lounge during Mardi Gras. Wife had the 5 cheese ziti, and she said it was really good. I don't like tomato sauces, so I'm not sure how it was. Smelled good though, and the guys are very friendly.
