They are called shorts for a reason. You look like trash wearing swim trunks to your knee.

Anyone else wear swim trunks as regular shorts? I rarely wear normal khaki shorts these days. Either Columbia/Patagonia style shorts or trunks. Way more comfortable.

My favorites are Ten-80 and Cire
I have 2 pair of Ten 80 shorts that are 6 or 7 years old and they still look new. I wear them a LOT during the summer. I'm surfing and wakeboarding almost every weekend, plus I'll swim in the pool at least twice a week.
Cire
Ten 80
Thanks for the info, haven't tried Cire or Ten 80

Patagonia baggies and other "water shorts" are great for all around wear.
Patagonia has a new stretch baggie, which is made for yoga or something, but they're freakin awesome. They just need to make them with a shorter inseam.

Under Armour. They are not crazy long or nut huggin short. Made of a lighter material that doesn't weigh you down when it gets wet.

I'm in my 30s but that makes no difference

I bet Jake's typical outfit is jeans and tennis shoes with a tucked in button up shirt.

Patagonia Baggies are the best.

I have those in yellow and just ordered a pair of light blue.

+1
Been rotating a few pairs for years now. I pretty much wear them in any casual setting. Most shorts with elastic waists would have rotted and stretched out by now.
