By recruiting resistance fighters and using guerilla tactics in an open-world environment, players can terrorize KPA troops and attempt to gain the upper hand either alone or along with friends in online co-op.

A short demonstration underlined that. Brady and his mates were tasked with busting some militants out of jail, and took advantage of an improvised bomb diversion elsewhere in the location to get into position. Salim later told me that diversion was not a scripted event; it was supposed to represent a human partner — there will be four-player online cooperative multiplayer — providing a big assist to the operation. (Salim would not discuss what multiplayer modes other than campaign co-op, if any, are planned for the game.)

"The city of Philadelphia is an asymmetric battlefield. The KPA have far superior technology and they can take out anyone they want to if you go up against them. The answer is you must use guerilla tactics."
Players aren't nearly as well equipped as the KPA, so to take them on you have to make clever used of the environment, the Crytek designer explains. This means staging ambushes and using hit-and-run tactics. It means gathering items and other materials to create weapons and tools that you can use in your fight against the KPA, including IEDs (improvised explosive devices) and distraction tools.

I didn't expect it to be open-world, or have co-op. So that could be interesting.

The only reason im remotely interested is the open world recruiting element.
Home front was such a pile of shite, only game I ever traded in within a week of purchase.

Looks awesome I think. Way better than expected.

Hopefully it turns out better than the 1st. It's a different developer and publisher this go round.

The recruiting element reminds me of a PS2 game I played called freedom fighter.
