Building a new camp. New OB input to make sure nothing is left out.

Elevated camp on the Ouachita. Will have place to hang and process deer, hogs, etc. Trying to make a list of must haves, then wants to make sure I don't leave out anything big. Like when I built my house and forgot about a place for a gun safe. Although it will have electricity run to it, will also be on generator back up. Any tips on generator size or type? Seems like I always leave something off. I'm a little ADD so details tend to get forgotten in place of "big" ideas. Will have secure place for pirogue. Any structural suggestions? I want this thing solid.

Make sure it's high enuff.

Is this just a hunting camp or will you be entertaining family and friends there as well?

You want solid, go with Eco blocks

Guessing flooding going to be an issue? How are you elevating?

It will be. Building on highest point on our land. And going a few feet over record flood levels.
And we'll be entertaining there too. So, it'll be nicer than just a basic camp. And since it's just 15 minutes from work. I'll be staying there on work days too. So it'll have a nice bathroom and shower. Can't go to work with a stanky arse.

Make sure your guest cottage has AC. I don't want to sweat when I come over.
How high are you going? Ours is about 16' and an elevator has become a necessity as my parents and grandparents age. Moving furniture/appliances would be difficult and dangerous without it now.
Badass, covered fish cleaning, game processing area with ample lighting and electrical receptacles is a must for a camp IMO.

Eco blocks
How heavy are those?

Make sure to have enough bathrooms. We have a 6 br/4 ba camp at the ranch, when we have a full house down there the 4 bathrooms don't feel like enough.

Thought about a elevator. How'd y'all rig yours up?

I think it is filled with concrete...

Those look like you have to pour concrete in between.
You should look at AAC blocks.

Easy to work with (like all you need is a circular saw to cut them like butter), a lot of pre-fab pieces, and great insulation. When I lived in SC there were a lot of houses getting built with them.

Heavy duty winch attached to a welded basket made of angle iron and attached to a guide post.

Also any interior ideas. Want it to look good. Have stockpiled some old barn wood and aged/rusted corrugated metal over the past couple years.

To get furniture in an out easily you could always install a beam and heavy duty pulley. Treat it as a flag pole until you need to pull up some furniture.

A vaulted ceiling in a main area is very nice, so a a large fireplace.

How big are you looking to build?
