He wouldn't...he isn't opting out of that last year, it is insane to think otherwise.
I think under the right circumstances he would. If he can pick his team, and feels as though he can significantly contribute, he could turn that voided year into something like a 4 year deal for 30M+, and still be a bargain for a team.
It would take the right circumstances, and I hope Dell is trying to figure out exactly what it would take.

That's a lot of "ifs"...and it centers around a player giving up 15+ in guaranteed money that he won't get close to again. It is possible he is that desperate to get out of NOLA, but he hasn't been a factor in three years and I'm not sure teams see him as a "missing piece" given his injury concerns.
I find it hard to believe a team is willing to commit anything longer-term to Eric Gordon at a price where it would even remotely make sense for him financially...no team is giving Gordon 30+ million right now.
This whole "Gordon might opt-out" thing just makes Pelicans fans feel better...like the idea he might have trade value.

Monroe would fit great but I love me some healthy Ryno as well
Any way we can get them
Both the minutes their salaries would demand?

No, they can't. But a lot of people on here will say that won't matter anyway..

Could AD effectively guard the opposing SF for stretches? Seems like he has the speed, agility, and quickness to handle it.

I don't want a big money big because of this. I think the most we really can afford both fit and salarywise is Asik at $8-$10 million. If you go after Monroe it almost forces you to trade Ryno at some point.

I've been saying this for the longest time. The only way we can really max out the Davis/Anderson combo is a player that can make them work together, at least half the game. In my mind, that would be a super athletic, powerful, semi-undersized PF. Someone that can guard 3-5 or at least help out in a zone type of defense. Not a whole lot of those guys out there though..

I know I may be in the minority here, but I would prefer a defensive 3 with a decent outside shot over a big 5. I think Ajinca/Smiht/Withey can give enough at the 5 to make it work.

I hear what you're saying but we aren't the Heat or Thunder who basically need someone with a pulse to play center bc they have Bron and KD
Look at the playoff teams
Pacers - Hibbert, West
Wizards - Nene, Gortat
Spurs - Duncan, Splitter (and incredible coaching)
Rockets - Howard, Asik, Jones
Clippers - Griffen, D Jordan
Even the Grizzlies - Gasol, Randolph
If AD gets either Asik or Monroe next to him I think we see the Pels sky rocket up the western conference standings
Imo I think a center is more important than a 3 and D guy but that's just me

Who are all of these 3 and D guys I am hearing so much about?

Some of these are a little more 3 or D rather than 3 and D and a few would be one year stop gaps.
Trevor Ariza
Marvin Williams
Thabo Sefolosha
Richard Jefferson
Caron Butler
CJ Miles
Brandon Rush
Wesley Johnson
Jordan Hamilton
There are also a few trade targets
Jared Dudley is available for cap space
Wilson Chandler

I think AD is in the same conversation as KD and Bron. This kid is going to be SICK next season.
