Technically speaking, it's highly classified how many nukes those subs carry....it's 24 missiles, but probably well over a hundred nukes.

I liked the movie quite a bit as a monster flick.

The only things that stuck in my craw:

1) so why is Godzilla hunting the Muta's?

He kills them and walks away.

Did one kill his mother?

2) so why the hell would they send the nuke, knowing they attract them, near the path of the female? Seems like the mission was doomed to failure. Should have flown it in most of the way, approaching SF by boat.

3) going on about how badass the bomb was.....no way it doesn't knock the rescue chopper out of the air, or cause massive damage with only 5 minutes to get clear.

4) Speaking of.....no way they can do all the shite they do in only an hour after turning the key.

It was almost a campy Japanese ending.
Godzilla wrecked shite, and then just roared and took off to the water with a flood of cheers.

I liked it though for what it was. It entertained me on a Friday night.

(I knew they had 24 bays, but maybe can't be used analog?)

I'm wondering if they were natural enemies or something like that, in nature.

He is nature's way of restoring balance, when these things wake he goes after them.

An old Godzilla did die and that's what the MUTOs used to feed

It's classic Godzilla, he gives his victory roar and heads back to the ocean
