Trust me, I agree. I have a loved one who is about to get out and qualifies for VA healthcare as a combat vet. I don't know if that's really a "benefit" or not.

I qualify for VA care. I went ONCE. It was filthy. Now I just use my insurance.

This post is one of the most delusional I've seen on this board. Secret waiting list = Mass murder? People on the secret waiting list = conservative/tea party folk? The ACA = single payer? The swift boat thing actually is possible considering the original swift boat actually happened.

I probably set the bar for "delusional post" here, Truck. But you can argue the SUBSTANCE, if you can.

Would YOU REMOVE a seriously sick individual from the waiting list, and hide it/them in the books? Are you intelligent enough to realize what that would mean for that individual? Would you be upset, if it was YOUR loved one that got removed from the list? If your loved one died, would you consider it murder/criminal; or just an honest mistake?

The Tea Party (hyperbole) is an admitted stretch ...or at least it should have been BEFORE the IRS went rogue on political opponents. Now...it wouldn't surprise me one bit it the whole group voted against Obama.

And re the ACA, show me a doctor or company in the private health care industry that pulls this crap...and they'd never see light of day again. Or own a car. They'd be taken to the criminal/civil cleaners.

"Delusional". Pot meet kettle.

I want to preface by saying I 100% agree with the firing of top management at the VA in Phoenix.

This was obviously a monumental screw up that most likely cost lives.

However, I don't see the politics in this. This is purely an idiocy/incompetence issue. Not a "tea party targeting scandal".

Would you consider "firing" enough, Truck...if it was your father that died? Should there be criminal liability here?

And I truly hope there ain't "politics" in this. BTW, do you think that it was politics in that TEN PERCENT of Tea Party donors were audited? Be honest! Just one of those bureaucratic anomalies?

I gotta run buddy.

It seems as though this list was used as a list before the list to make the official list seem like it was good at getting people appointments in time. Is that not true?

The VA needs more money to hire more doctors and such to reduce wait times.. Would that make any vote against additional VA funding essentially dooming more individuals to die?

We obviously haven't learned enough about this.

If these tea party donors are wealthy, 10% is actually a low rate!!

Check out the chances of being audited by income level here - > LINK /

Hell. If we made about 10,000,000 a year, we'd probably get to head to the IRS headquarters together every year according to these numbers. We could probably grab a beer together!!

I hate Holder because he's a lying, corrupt POS; however, this is not a reason to criticize.

Welcome to government-run healthcare. This is the kind of bureaucrat bullshite that comes from the lack of repercussions that has become endemic in federal government employment.

That's a big negative for sure.

The government tries to spend less money on healthcare when it's government run.

The insurance companies/health care providers try to get people to spend more money when it's privately run.

VA medical centers defied some agency policies on supplying opiates to veterans in 2012, including simultaneously prescribing thousands of ex-troops with narcotic painkillers and psychoactive drugs -– a combination that’s been linked to lethal overdoses, a new audit shows.

The review, conducted by the independent Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General (OIG), found that 92.6 percent of veterans who are chronically prescribed opioid drugs (such as Oxycodone) also were prescribed benzodiazepines (such as Xanax and Valium) -– a mix “strongly associated with death from opioid overdose.”

The audit, which collected data from a population of about a half million veterans, was first reported on by the Center for Investigative Reporting.

quote:

Among the VA’s “take-home opioid patients,” 7,426 died in fiscal year 2012, states the report, which did not breakdown the causes of those deaths.

The audit –- requested by the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs –- also found that while VA rules mandate veterans prescribed opiates undergo urine pre-tests to block addiction, only 7.6 percent of new veteran patients were given a urine drug test within 30 days prior to initiating their opioid therapy.

Let's see what the Inspector General's report says before we start the wailing and the gnashing of the teeth.

thought the left was supposed to be the ones obsessed with race?

Well he is after all, the one who, when speaking of the Voter ID laws referred to "his people".

He also sanctimoniously lectured the American people and told us that we were cowards when it comes to race. Translation: You're a coward if you don't agree with our "solutions".

His boss is the one who said that if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon.

And let's don't forget Biden's "dey gunna putchall back in chains" comment.

It's all race all the time, with these people.

Was that the same Holder DOJ that paid for private party groups travel to protest at the trial in Samford? No bias or partisan politics though.
