Slight spinoff: Longest flight you've ever been on?

The world traveler thread got me thinking. The longest I've ever been on is about 4 hours from one coast to the other and that's about all I could handle. I don't really like flying. I'd love to see Europe but honestly I don't know if I could handle the long flight, especially being over the ocean for that long.

Longest flight for me was direct from NOLA to LA. That will change soon as I am going to Europe in September to hit Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna, and Prague

14 hours. LA to Taiwan (Taipei, I believe).
ETA: I can't remember which way was the longer flight. One was 12 and the other was 14.

LA to Melbourne. The plane was running out of fuel and had to stop in Sydney. Was horrible.

10 hours from Phoenix to London, then another 9 hours from London to Nairobi

Did Philadelphia to Gatwick in London once and did Atlanta to Heathrow in London last summer.

London to Atlanta- over 11 hours; then Atlanta to New Orleans to get home

I shorted it a bit, actually about 16-17 hours typically. The flight back is somewhat faster unless the plane is filled with Chinese natives at which point the flight feels like an eternity...

How does this happen? Don't think know how much fuel to put in there in advance???

They said there were big headwinds. I can tell you that the last thing in the world you want after 14 hours in the plane is to have to land, fuel for an hour and then take off again.
