Quite possible. I tested the emergency road repair on La. 1 @ the Intercoastal Canal at 2 hours and 45 minutes old and it broke at 4880 psi. It had 'Super P' in it.

MRB I-10 East to I-110 begs to differ.

You have never had to do work with the Rail Road Companies have you?

What ever they say goes, basically no matter what. Other obstacles are the elevation of the RR compared to nicholson and both sides of brightsides. It is going to take some major dough gaining ROW away from Nicholson, to design a big enough intersection needed.

it was basically a farmers road. then developers decided it would be a great idea to put condos what would house 1000s of people right up against the intersection without any area for redesign.

yea big mistake for that farmer who didnt know it would be servicing 1000s of people 50 years ago.

boyd/burbank?
ill add this to this post as well. Do you retard really believe that when that intersection was "designed" i say that loosely because i believe Boyd was there way before burbank, that the designers of that 2 lane road that most likey was going to be a neighborhood street would forsee the Condo Boom of the late 2000s? which probably is 4 times the population density as a neighborhood.

I think you can drive on it after 7 days, but to fully cure is 28. I don't know if I'm remembering that right from school...I'm not on the construction side of things.

yea i take up for alot of engineering/construction issues, but the Essen debacle is laughable. there has been no work on it for 3 months. you can open a lane less than a week after concrete is poured.

yea the 8 million cones are still there. they are literally every 1-2ft. IDK what the contractor is doing. it would take half a day to go out remove the cones and finish striping for that to be done.

Could be a lot of stuff....

They could have grinds to do on the concrete which means the city hadn't accepted it and the contractor still owns it....

Could be they don't have any grinds and they are keeping it closed so the city gets people like you guys complaining and calling about why it isn't open and they just say screw it and we accept it, just open the road so people quit complaining....

They have been saying this since the late 80s. It's never going to happen. They will study it until the costs double and there's no more money in the budget left to build it. Then, they will wait a couple years and study it again. Rinse, repeat, and fleece the taxpayers with more studies and mre empty promises. They could very easily fix that intersection in one night with a can of paint and a trafic light with a left turn arrow. All you have to do is turn the right turn lane into a straight and the straight into a left turn lane and put in a turn signal. They did this on Park at Perkins and it worked to perfection. It's a cheap fix that would only cost a couple hundred dollars and would work in the short term until the road can be widened, but it will NEVER happen. Why? Because government.

You never hear about the studies that save millions of dollars do you. Kinda like good cop stories.

you are telling me you want tractor trailers to shift down to a 9-10' lanes with-in a matter of 10 feet?

they usually dont retrofit roads or intersections to a configuration that will lower the level of service. Thats the only thing i can think of.

Park at Perkins
and Burbank isnt a major thoroughfare for tractor trailers.

not arguing against you there.

Make the "right turn lanes" to "through lanes" and the current "through lanes" into "left turn lanes". BOOM

why they have not done this is beyond me. Why would you have dedicated right turn lane for that intersection?

Staring opened up four lanes yesterday (2 each way), and most of the cones were gone today.

Not sure if it's open all the way to Highland, but it looked like it was 4 lanes all the way from Perkins to Menlo at least.

BR has always struggled with making simple adjustments to ease traffic. I've always wondered what would be so hard about synchronizing green lights. Can't be that hard bc right now the reds are synced.

I see they are starting to do road construction on the stretch of Lee between Burbank and Nicholson. Would have been nice if they could have started this project while school was out.

That aside, anyone know the continued hold up with the Nicholson/Brightside Green light? The time table on the Green Light Project continues to say they are in the "right of way" phase, which this project has been stuck on for years. If they haven't been able to work out the deal with the railroad after all this time, will a deal ever get worked out?
