Is it possible to do an indirect cook on one of the kettles?

Yes. I recommend getting these for your kettle. They came with my Weber Performer. Not sure if they come with the kettle alone.

Yup. Very easy. I can do it without the trays, but those do look handy. Someone on here pointed me towards the snake method and it works great in my kettle.

You can use it as a smoker. The Smokenator 1000 works well with the kettle for smoking.

So far I love my Genesis. Thinking about getting the Kettle to supplement it. Is the Kettle enough to do a smoke or should I get a WSM also?

It depends on how much you want to smoke. I started out using the Smokenator 1000 on my Weber Performer and it worked well, but it is going to take up a small section of your usable grill area.
I ended up getting a WSM last year instead of using my kettle because I needed more usable space for smoking.

Small hijack. WSM over electric/propane smokebox?
