Any ideas as to why my deck is covered in fungus?

I have a lot of trees overhead and I am wondering if that's what's causing it. I just notice a lot of green on my wooden surfaces under the trees. It's my deck, and fence too. I've even noticed it on some of my bricks on my house. I've had it power washed somewhat recently, but it keeps coming back.

Bleach first, then pressure wash

don't just pressure wash it. Use a deck cleaner that has bleach in it. Spray it on. Use a stiff broom to scrub it. Rinse. Then stain it.

Is your deck on the north side? The north side of my house has to be pressure washed twice a year.

Be careful with pressure washing. It can mess up the wood

Trim back the trees and let more sunlight in. Mold loves that shade, but the shade keeps the yard cooler.
