They don't have enough fish shite in the water in Florida, to pull off a sparkle beetle.

Yeah, I think people get a little too excited over a lure looking really great to them. Fish may not care. Hell, they hit curly tails and spoons. Doesn't need high-def detail to catch fish. Not saying they aren't good lures, just not necessary. I think the action makes a lot of the difference.

It's always a tough call. I know last year my Vudu's were out-fishing my dad's H&H cocahos at about 1.5 to 1. This may not seem like much, but when we have to leave Alabama and get there and back in one weekend, - boat cleaning time you really want to maximize your catch rates. (He's stubborn about lures and spots. Will stay on little schools too long). I'd rather use live bait, but sometimes it's just not an option, and I hate feeding it to 11" trout.

Are these soft plastic? Fish them under a popping cork?

Every year there is a hot new bait. I just avoid those crazes. I have never had anyone out fish me with them while in the same boat.

If I have these I will catch all the fish iI need.

Chartreuse with red dot sparkle beetle
Purple and Gold cocahoes
Red/White, Bone, Chartreuse Top Dog/She dog/ JR

Yeah it is as if lure manufacturers want you to think fish are smarter and won't still bite old school baits. Hell we used to catch boat loads of trout with shad rigs before they had limits

.... man i am feeling old as i remember the days of no limit when i was a kid.

Not saying these baits aren't more productive when the fish are not as turned on.

My dad has pictures of the whole driveway filled with rows and columns of fish before limits.

My dad and I were in a 13 ft whaler and had so many drum/reds on the floor of the boat it wouldn't get on top I remember being scared to put my feet down in the fish

I honestly agree with limits just wish it was 25 trout with no size and 5 reds all under 27. No real reason to keep a bull red IMO.

I remember PawPaw getting fired up at dad and his brother one time because we were running out of ice from the earlier fish, replacing it on the bottom of the boat.

In all seriousness, those lures are petty legit. I've used them under a pop cork, as well as just cast and reel.

They are pretty durable, I fished all day for two days on one, and probably caught 30+ fish, and it still looked good as new when it was put back in the tackle box.

Yea, but then you have to get your pretty hands icky, and you can't brag about how you caught all your fish on artificials
