He and Hill were highly rated recruits coming out of high school. Hilllard was a freaking beast his freshmen year then wtf happened? I know Hill came back but damn. Did he look good in spring? Fill me tiger insiders we gonna get Kenny "Beast mode" or Kenny "Stay Puff marshmallow" this year?

Standing straight up and slowly backing into the pile is not how to gain yards.

You gotta run it like you stole it.

Hilliard had some decent runs in 2012, but was lost in the fray when Jeremy Hill started to assert himself after Blue got injured. Hill and Magee were an effective 1-2 punch, so it seemed that Hilliard really didn't factor into the game plan late in the season. Personally, I'd like to see him go out in style for his senior year.

that's why they should redshirt LF , let his body mature and put on some muscle and get rid of the baby fat , maybe work on his speed and agility , let him get used to the speed of the collage game ....
I told myself a joke

Hilliard is a nice 2nd, 3rd RB. Jeremy Hill is one of the 5 best RBs to ever don the purple and gold. His troubles took away a year and 3 games of his career, else we would all be bowing at his greatness. I have high hopes for Fournette just like the next guy, but I think the odds are extremely against him this year being as good as Hill was last year. If ever.

Yep. Great back with great vision.
Had he not missed a year, he definitely would be near the top of the list.

He had a good freshman year and then gained weight. He was surpassed by Hill (for good reason). He lost some weight last year and more prior to this season. Even with Fournette and Magee, he will have a roll on this team. You can never have too many RBs.

He ran great when we had a very dominant o-line in 2011. Had gaping holes and he usually came in late after d-lines were worn down. Basically the same size as Hill, but doesn't have near the speed, vision or lateral movement that JH has.
Supposedly he has trimmed some weight and gotten a little quicker. With an experienced o-line, hopefully he can contribute this year and fill his role on the team. Relieve Buga & Magee and be a solid leader in the locker room.
His best shot for a future in the NFL is to bulk up to about 240-245 and be a versatile fullback IMO. Will never have enough speed to play tailback in theNFL.

I have this picture in my mind of bowed-up LF arranging photos on a poster board with Frank Wilson yelling, "MOVE, IT BOY."

Gaining too much weight, injuries, and fumbles have cost him playing time. If he can stay away from those things, he should play a healthy amount this year

Neither is jumping into the hole the OL has created, the moment you get to the line of scrimmage.

The cast of characters in an LSU backfield will make or break any RB. You better be in shape, and willing to compete at an extremely high level or you will quickly be forgotten. I cannot complain about an LSU backfield, ever, 1 of, if not the best in College Football

He's been playing hurt mostly since his fresh year. He had a bad case of turf toe and a knee issue, both caused him to put on weight from not going full speed. Last year he was getting healthy but they wanted to bring him back slow. I expect a big year.

I'm afraid he doesn't exist.
Hilliard is talented; rather, Hill really separated himself from the pack, even in his freshman year. I expect Fournette to be a similar story to Hill--if not better, of course.

Hilliard was rated higher, but there were a few guys that watched both in hs that said hill would be the best out of the 2. And he is. I think hills knock was he was running behind lael Collins in hs.

I'm not saying he should move now....but I sure do like to imagine how talented of an mlb he could have been. It seems he naturally wants to carry more weight and doesn't shy away from contact obviously. The measurables are there..who knows.
And yes, I understand no all everything rb is gonna let you recruit them at lb, but it always crosses my mind seeing him with reduced carries and seeing us struggle to fill that role with some big strong and fast enough.

He reminds me a lot of Spencer Ware. He's bigger, but fell off after his first year just like him. It seems like both these guys lost some cut ability after their first year. He will be a veteran presence for LF and already is one for TG. Him and TG talk a lot on Twitter. That in itself is of huge importance.
