Outdoor Tips and Tricks Thread

Somebody gave me a magazine years ago with lots of tips for the outdoors. Here are a few:
1 - Handy bullet tote: If you have left your shell carrier at home put your loose rounds in the fingers of a spare glove to keep them from rattling around.
2 - No spill dog bowl: Drive a wooden stake through the center of an angel food cake pan to make a tip proof water bowl for your dog.
3 - Homemade wader dryer: Drill holes along a 2 1/2' piece of PVC pipe, attach to the end of a hair dryer, and use to dry the inside of your waders
4 - Fire starter: Put charcoal briquets in a cardboard egg carton and tie shut. Light the carton to start a fire.
5 - More fire starter: Hand sanitizer makes a great accelerant. Throw a few travel size bottles in your bag.
6 - Natural ice: Freeze pond, river, or rain water to use with your bait to avoid the chlorine scent from tap water.
7 - Howl at deer: Before leaving your stand in the evening use a coyote howl call to clear out nearby deer without overly spooking them.

yep, for me, finding an angel food cake pan, a wooden stake and a hammer is always a lot easier than finding a bowl.

Outdoor Tips
Saw a guy last w/e fly back to the launch, drop off his buddy who quickly backed the boat trailer in the water. Yep, they forgot to put the plug in. Nice boat too.

Probably will only apply to those in the medical field, but hemostats are by far the best fish hook removers.

Toilet paper
Should be one of the first things stored on a boat.

There are these cool little devices out there called ziploc bags.

I am under the feeling that every locker/storage area on my boat needs to have a roll of TP in a ziplock. At least one of those rolls will be double bagged.

Every hunting bag that I own has a TP roll in a gallon ziploc.
