Had my first taste yesterday. They were giving them away. I was very impressed. Sorta a Subway of pizza restaurant. You stand over a glass shield and tell them what you want. 11" pizza, as many toppings as you want $7.95. Really friendly and really fast. I ordered and had my pizza in under 5 minutes. The pizza was really good; one of the best I've had in Chicago actually. I think this is a chain that is going to catch on. New Orleans or Baton Rouge might get one in a few years.

And while we're on the subject of Chicago pizza again, anyone ever been to the new Eataly? I live a few blocks away, so went in a few weeks ago to try the pizza. TERRIBLE. Eataly SUCKS! Groceries are absurdly overpriced and the food is terrible. Nothing but a bunch of bumpkin tourists trying to feel cosmopolitan.

Give it a try if you have a chance and you'll know what I'm saying. It's artisan pizza. But it's like Subway in that you order it like Subway. You see the ingredients and you watch them put it on your pie. Quite a civilized way to eat pizza.

That was a delicious pizza!

For under $8 I got a build it yourself 11" pizza.
Toppings:

1. spicy red sauce
2. applewood bacon
3. pepperoni
4. smoked ham
5. salami
6. shredded mozzarella
7. ovalini moazzarella (fresh)
8. parmesan cheese
9. ricotta cheese
10. artichokes
11. black olives
12. fresh basil
13. fresh whole garlic
14. red peppers
15. olive oil drizzle

A couple people made fun of me when I called it Subway-like. But is there a better way to make a pizza than you tell them which toppings and how much of each? For the toppings I liked especially much, I told them to keep piling them on, and they happily obliged.

Pizza took 3 minutes to cook. Came out with a beautiful light char on the bottom. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best pizza in Chicago. And until you try it, don't knock it. I guarantee you if they keep the quality up and the prices near the same, Blaze will take over the American pizza landscape.

Says the one who hasn't tried it. Three years from now, after there are as many Blaze pizza joints as Walgreens in New Orleans, you'll remember the day you laughed at some person on the internet who liked Blaze.

Never said it was bad. Just said you're a shitty, inflammatory poster.

FYI, you're a shitty poster.

What's with the harsh negative vibes?

It is sad that a new poster can't have an opinion without some stuck up douche having a conniption fit.

Thanks runningTiger. That was some great information. I don't like to cook myself so I guess it more easier to go out or get food delivered at home. my daughter loves pizza and I ll take her there as soon as possible. I hope they offers peperoni one. my daughter loves it while I always go for ham and cheese.

thanks again mate.

Going to get my Chicago buddy to reconnoiter this place. Looks like it has potential for sure.

I've been to the one in NYC and I tend to agree with you here.

The one on East Erie or East Onterio is giving away free pizzas this Thursday as long as you say, "Summer Splash" when you order. A worker told me that when I was there Saturday.

I called him out on that when he first started posting. 92% certainty, I'd say.
