A threat to leave the conference may bring some additional media criticism to this Alabama/Auburn SEC Bias

You call year in, year out slight? But that said, the only way LSU leaves the SEC is if they throw us out (and that ain't happening). We are SEC.

The only 2 reasons that I think would ever cause us to leave would be:
1. Changed pay structure that pays some schools more than others. (which is a large part of ATM leaving B12)
2. Television networks making it impossible for us to play night games AND the B12 making a contractual agreement to let us play a majority of our games at night every year.

Also, I personally don't think I could give up the Bama rivalry, so for me that would have to stay intact as well.

The SEC is by far the best conference in the Nation. The SEC Comm. went to Bama & hangs on Saban,
s balls since he has been there. Bama will always get a pussy schedule as long as he is Comm.

No...it wouldn't, because only a fool would threaten to LEAVE the SEC. LSU would be lambasted rather than getting the issue taken seriously.

First, we can't even get our own fans to agree there IS an issue. Far too many of our own run around taking about how "They ain't skeered!" and how they think it's awesome LSU gets to play UF every year while BAMA plaus UT...and then bitch about how LSU under performs. Until a majority of our own fans acknowledge the problem (the idiotic cross divisional rivals bullshite) there's no point to be made to a larger audience.

Second, why would anyone outside of the SEC give a flying rat's arse to LSU's plight? Further, why would BAMA fans/SEC Officials care at all if the nation thought they were tilting the scales? Are we assuming guilt would fix this? C'mon...

The only way this gets fixed is EITHER LSU can convince a majority of SEC schools to side with us that the cross divisional rival thing is a bad idea (and it's clear we are nearly alone on this for any number of reasons) and they vote with us to change the status quo, OOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRR all conferences are disbanded and the NCAA steps in and runs college football like the NFL runs their league. Instead of having little fiefdoms around the country running their own little shows you'd have a central office which would assign referees (frick you, Tom Ritter...go call an Oregon-Stanford game!) and be responsible for scheduling. No longer would one powerful program dominate a conference based on history or prestige or the fact that the god damned office is located in their state and therefore employs mostly folks with rooting interests for in-state programs, etc.

And...neither of those are going to happen any time soon, though let's be clear...the only legitimate shot is Option #1. LSU ought to be focusing on changing the hearts and minds of at least 7 other schools. Four are out, as it's clear BAMA/UT/UGA and AU are pushing this. While UF has to play LSU every year, they also benefit from UT playing BAMA and AU playing UGA...so I have no clue where they side. Some of the weaker programs are fine with how it is because they are paired against each other, so they have a less a chance of drawing a BAMA or an LSU or an UGA or an AU or a UF.

I have no clue where we find any allies in this, regardless of the "rightness" of our view.

Trust me you don't want that. Unless you want the LSU football program to lose all of the momentum that has been built up.

Simple solution. Hope UT rebuilds into a Bama-Buster, like they often were back in the day. If they do, they will also become (by definition) a UGA buster, and maybe a UF buster, which won't hurt the Tigers one bit either, since we don't usually play them in reg season.

That may be the saddest thing I've seen in a while. You cherry-pick 3 teams from that conference and it includes Oklahoma fricking State.

What a shitty conference.

That would be similar to the SEC's 3rd best program being Ole Miss or MSU.
