Boat launch comedy

I'm sure there's been plenty of threads on this subject in the past, but looking for some laughs. I'll start.
Was waiting in line to launch at sweetwater and the line was moving decent until two black guys back their bass boat in the water. The trailer had rollers and they unhooked the bow before backing down. You guessed it, boat hits concrete and slides 5 feet. About 15 of us pick the boat up and drop it in the water. Luckily all they needed to do was some gelcoat on the bottom.

A few years back I saw some black dudes launching a boat. When they got in the boat and started to leave the dock, they notice a lot of water coming into the boat and realized they'd forgotten the plug.
Boat was started and ended up hitting the gas and going in a circle in panic. They had some puppies in a box (have no idea why) that flew into the water.

If you've never put a boat in the water without the plug then you haven't boated enough imo

IF you own a boat you will eventually forget something- Don't know anyone who hasn't forgotten the plug at least once.

I was making a quick trip by myself and dropped the boat and parked. Get back to the launch and the boat is 1/3 full of water. Luckily I got it running and bailed it out running in circles.

I saw about half a dozen people flip out of kayaks in the LSU lakes this weekend.
How the frick is that possible? I can hardly flip myself on purpose

I agree that you will at some point forget something. First time we took my dad's new boat out we forgot one of the plugs. But the bilge pump works!
As far as being nervous, one time I had to launch at Joe's in lafitte. I didn't have much trailer experience at the time and it was the morning of a tourney (we were just going fishing) and if you know Joe's, the slip is just wide enough for a trailer and there's a piling that makes you back in at an angle. I backed it in with the tightest of buttholes and knew after that I'd never have a problem backing another boat in.

I was at a launch this weekend, actually camped across from it...
My friend says, this is gonna be good... one person in a bass boat that has just been launched, and he trying to get the transom saver off of the motor (from inside the boat).
I head downstairs to defend my own boat that he was drifting toward... He says I'm sowwy sir, can you tell me where to catch redfish?
I was kinda speechless for a second, and said, Can I give you a hand? (as he's fighting to keep the side of his bass boat off my tilted motor)
"Ugh, no sir, this my boat, I got it."
He did get it. I've never seen this mistake before. (buy hey, boats are made to make us all feel dumb)

My paw-in-law never owned a boat before and he decided he needed one for his new camp. He builds a boat ramp (has someone else build it) and then buys himself a 24' pontoon boat (with a 45hp merc on it). Second time he's ever pulling it out of the water his safety chain gets hooked on the expanded metal boat ramp and he didn't know it. The metal was VERY well anchored and his little Tacoma was smoking all 4 tires. He calls me at home to come help. We live about 30 min away and he wants me to bring my tractor he says. I tell him if my Z71 can't get it out then the tractor will just tear it up. When I get their I notice the chain (by this time he has a 4 x 4 dodge diesel pulling at the same time on the Tacoma). I ask if he ever uses the safety chain and he says "what's that?" I said the chain there from your trailer. So he goes over and grabs it and gets 2nd degree burns on his entire palm. Needless to say we still give him shite about checking his safety chains.

Nothing more entertaining than sitting at Freds on a Sunday afternoon watching drunks attempt to put boats on trailers!

i did'nt see this, but a friend told me he rented out a partybarge out to 2 couples. and when they lunched it they just unhooked the trailer from the truck and rode around with the trailer still strapped to the barge. then called to complain that it was too slow. thats when he went to see if something was wrong with it and seen what they had done.

I was launching my canoe at Calcasieu Point where there are three lanes when my canoe was almost ran over
I unloaded it, went park my truck, then was about to get in when a truck started backing down a boat in my lane. I had to run out of the way and he noticed just in time. I would have cried

Ole River 2 years ago
A guy with a few marijuana stickers on his back glass is pulling his 16' aluminum boat out the water. I ha walked to get my truck and apparently when he pulled up he didnt have his wench hooked up and the boat floaded about half way back in the trailer. He then proceeds to walk around the boat scratching his head puzzled. I watched him try pushing it up and thought any minute he'll realize he can just back down and float it. Nope, he gets on the winch and winched that fricker all the way up.

Saw a truck that was dragged down a boat ramp. I didn't see it happen, just the truck in water up to its side-view mirrors.
Don't know if that's comedy, I'm sure it wasn't for the owner of that truck.

Older guy I work with was launching the boat with his wife. He told her to hold the rope while he went to park. When he comes back the boat had drifted across the canal...his wife is on the bow yelling "you told me to hold the rope".

Two from sweetwater. First one I saw a guy back his boat down and run out of gas on the ramp. This was opening week of duck season, so it was a shite show.
2nd one I saw a guy coming down the ramp hot and hit his brakes. His gatortraxx rolled off and landed flat on the concrete.

I once saw an older f-150 that couldnt pull a 28 ft boat out of a slip in venice. They then proceded to put trailor on a chevy and it pulled boat right out.
And one time i was launching alone and my rope knot came untied from my truck and i hada swim for the boat.

One of my favorite pastimes is sitting at Sand Dollar and watch people launch boats, it can be quite hilarious. But I also hate being the guy in the boat while everyone is watching
