No... that's not OLD cammo. Soldiers deploying into Afghanistan get the multi - cam uniforms. The army or at least the Army National Guard still gets ACUs when they ship for basic. Other branches of services may use the new cammo uniforms, probably the USMC but not the Guard. They have talked about phasing out the ACUs for a while but so far they have only managed to get rid of 'some' velcro.

It is two different style/shapes of brims. You can bend either or keep both flat. Bending it doesn't change that it is a flat brimmed hat.

He is actually correct. The cut of the bill is different on a flat bill versus a regular curved bill. A flat bill is cut to fit your head while flat, if/when you bend it the shape of the bill changes and no longer fits correctly.
I have a couple hundred hats at my shop right now, about 1/5 of them are flat bills. There is a very real difference.
