The biggest returning key to our offense isn't the OL, Magee, or Hilliard

It's him.
Jaw cracking blocks, senior leadership, great hands out of the backfield, and never misses an assignment. #43 will be in full beast mode this season and I can't wait to watch him open holes again this season. We are lucky to have him back.

I love the kid, but no, he's not the biggest key. and he does miss assignments, or get blown up on blocks. but he's a good FB that I think will only get better this year.

No Fournette and Harris will be the keys. But thanks for asking

Not the biggest key guy coming back. But you can't win without guys like him . The 2nd picture is my favorite .

He might not even start over Melvin.

I think he's one of, if not the biggest key player for the offense. Everyone knows we'll either have a less than talented QB or a freshman QB starting, so our passing game will mirror that of the Iowa game.
The running game will then be key. With Copeland gone, (who was outplayed by Neighbors last year. Go back and watch most of the 25+ yard runs we broke and let me know who was fullback) fullback was a HUGE hole until we found out Neighbors was coming back. With our QB situation in rebuild mode and the offense leaning on the run game this year more than last year, I'd say fullback is the key spot. Without a good lead blocker, LF and Magee ain't doing shite.

I'd definitely put Collins ahead of him, but that doesn't diminish his value.

This thread is great.
Once you take away the O-line, Magee & Hilliard, Neighbors is basically the only returning player.
So, by default, you're probably right.

Melvin is going to play a lot but he is not starting over Conner. I'm looking forward to seeing both lay some folk out this year.

I think you have mistaken him for JC Copeland

You guys think he gets 18? or Magee?

I don't know about biggest but, it is obvious that they like using him as a receiving threat and having a legit FB receiving threat can give defenses nightmares and enable the RBs to really get some space when they are handed the ball. If he is what I think he is as a full time FB, I anticipate big numbers for RBs who get to take advantage of frozen linebackers.

He's talented. But, no way in hell is he the most important piece coming back to this offense.
