We had the traditional southern jewish easter of crawfish and cheese casserole, ham, matzo ball soup, macaroni and cheese, and green beans filled with bacon.

So wrong, so right

Just threw a chicken on the weber. Gonna give it a little smoke. I'm still noob at grilling/smoking. My first time trying chicken. Hopefully it comes out alright.

Roast and rice 'n gravy, maque choux, asparagus, pistolettes, salad. My son's favorite cookies for dessert. (Haha, my son's favorite cookies come from a bakery, not my kitchen.)

I haven't made maque choux in years, and I must say, it turned out pretty good. It's not Grandma's maque choux, but still worth doing again.

Had lunch with some Sunday School friends remembering and celebrating a gift of grace and mercy we have received.

Wife was asked to make made potato salad. I was invited to be there. So much good food and so many good friends. He is risen and I am richly blessed.

did easter supper with some friends on Saturday night. i cooked:
pork roast w/ rice & gravy
cauliflower gratin
black-eyed peas
skillet bread

for easter sunday breakfast, we had buttermilk/oatmeal pancakes w/ macerated strawberries and cane syrup

i originally planned to put a ham on the smoker on sunday. but we had so much leftover from saturday night, it wasn't necessary. left more time to hangout with Mrs. Vedder and little Vedder. good day...
