then why did people laugh at me when i said he played better than vaccaro?
because he isn't better than him, nor is he as versatile or asked to do as much. KV missed 3 according to PFF despite playing 200+ more snaps all over the field
Its also a misleading stat. It says the MT was against the Jets. I remember him missing a tackle against Miami that went for a long TD, but he didn't touch him so I guess it isn't a MT
KV saved numerous touchdowns by flying around the field and preventing a big gain from turning into a TD. That doesn't show up on the stat sheets, but it was huge for us

Yeah that Miami one was bad, but wasn't a missed tackle because there was no contact. It was a piss poor angle that took him completely out of the play which is even worse.
I'm not sure it went for a TD though. I seem to remember Vaccaro making the tackle on that play after a LONG gain.
Also, like I said and hope someone can find it because I'm having no luck, I remember hearing Vaccaro only had 2 missed tackles.

I'm almost certain Sharper didn't touch Addai in the Super Bowl, but I'm sure that counted as a missed tackle.

just looked it up, Bush made the tackle after 50 yards. He approached him and just stopped and the guy ran right by him. It was a weird play

I saw that Jenkins missed 16 tackles last year. My word, I'm glad he's gone.

bush did this a ton too.
Im still not sure what Vaccro did to earn him the playmaker label. He was solid at his job, but far from a playmaker in the true sense

That breaks down the Miami and Jets tackles in question.
Vaccaro definitely made the Jets tackle to save the play, but can't find out for sure about the Miami one.
Also, the report is obviously biased against him so ignore that. Just posting for the two things in question.

Yeah I thought I remembered someone making the tackle, and I was thinking of the Jets game with Vaccaro.

If you were to project Bush's stats out like that(which is far from accurate but the only way to do it) he would have 56.7 total tackles, 40.5 solo tackles, 0 sacks, 0 FF, 1.35 FR, 0 ints, 6.75 PD, 1.35 stuffs, and 1.35 missed tackles.
Vaccaro had 79 total tackles, 62 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF, 0 FR, 1 int, 8 PD, 5 stuffs
Im not about to do all this math
but if Bush had 5 PD in 514 snaps
and Vaccaro had 7 in 792 snaps
im pretty sure it would project Bush to have more PD per snap than Vaccaro.

PFF has KV as the #3 most efficient tackler from the safety position, but he was much more efficient than Bush in the running game vs passing (makes sense since he covered the slot more)
Running Game
KV had 30 running tackles with 18 stops, 5 assists and 1 MT in 309 snaps
Bush had 16 running tackles with 4 stops, 8 assists, and 1 MT
Passing Game
KV had 38 tackles, 8 stops, 4 assists, and 2 MT in 457 snaps
Bush had 14 tackles, 2 stops, 1 assist, and 0 MT in 349 snaps

I do think Harper had a much better go of it this year though. Spags scheme was brutal to him. Squarest of pegs into the roundest of holes there.

Are you that petty?
It's abundantly clear that he's that petty.
And it's hilarious that he's making up an argument that no one has presented.

KV's versatility allows him to play in more favorable matchups...
KV had a lot more difficult matchups than Bush
Bush covered a slot receiver 11x, KV covered the slot receiver 156x
KV caused a lot of plays to end behind the LOS too. He flys to the ball

(5 / 514) = (x / 792)
x = 792 * (5/514)
x = 7.7 passes defended
Maybe Bush was as good/slightly better at some things than KV, but Vaccaro was asked to do a lot more. I don't think Bush defended TEs/slot CBs nearly as often, and KV actually lined up as an OLB with 2 other safeties on occasions.

So Vaccaro missed 3 tackles in 79 chances to Bush's 1 in 42. Not bad Vaccaro. Not bad.
For a guy that was playing almost every position on defense beside DL, that's pretty damn good for a rookie.
