Buying a sack or two one day and keeping them alive overnight before doing a lunch boil the next day, if you aren't able to buy them the morning of your boil? Can it be done, how?

Cooler or refrigerator would be ideal. Ice chest with a wet burlap sack with some ice over works well also but keep the plug out.

Put ice in bottom of ice chest. cover ice with burlap or blanket. put crawfish on top. pull drain plug to drain off water

I did this one year. I cleared out all the drawers in my fridge. I kept two sacks overnight in there. It totally worked but required some serious cleaning to get the lingering smell out

yep. Wet and cool. I did this all the time when I'd boil in Chicago. Pick them up at Midway of Friday afternoon and boil them Saturday. very few dead, and those that were were usually crushed.

Leave the crawfish n the sack, prop lid open to icechest (use ur paddle), put ice on bottom & top if you want, keep the burlap moist.
Do it all the time, no problemo

if the weather stays cool, just wet them right before you go to bed and they will be fine.
these things are survivors.

Great info. We'll be on the beach, so it's pretty safe to assume there will be a nice sustained breeze overnight.
Thanks!

make sure there isn't any standing water in the storage container you use. the bugs will be trapped and suffocate. so, as mentioned, just make sure they are in a cool very moist environment.
