Just getting around to posting my review of O'Brien's Grille in Gretna. It was my SO's birthday last week and she choose O'Brien's Grille in Gretna.

For Apps we got the pan seared scallops(description from their menu---Fresh sea scallops served with braised pork belly, baby arugula and Plaquemine’s Parish honey glaze). This was really good. The scallops and pork belly pair really well.

For entree, I got the Crispy Gulf Shrimp & Bacon Macaroni (Panko crusted gulf shrimp over creamy macaroni with Nueske’s bacon, carmelized onions and English peas, finished with a roasted tomato glaze). This was really good. Really liked the mac. Mac was really rich and had a good flavor with the bacon. The shrimp were very good also. Large shrimp butterflied without too much breading.

For her entree, she got the Parmesan Crusted Speckle Trout. (Pan fried Grouper served with whipped potatoes, sautéed baby spinach, jumbo lump crabmeat & a Creole buerre blanc ). She said she really enjoyed this also. Had a bite of the trout and it was very good.

For dessert, she got the creme brulee and I got raspberry cheesecake. I really enjoyed mine. I'm a big fan of fresh raspberries and you could really taste the fresh raspberries in mine. Fresh raspberries also surrounded the cheesecake. Here's a pic of hers.

They also did this for her birthday which I thought was really nice.

Overall, O'Briens has always been very good every time I have been. It's really solid even with it being on the westbank (for yall westbank haters ). Next time I will try to take more pics. We got hungry and forgot to take pics of the apps and entrees.

Sounds great.
Would you say this is the best restaurant on the westbank?

I've never been, but heard lots of good things about the place.

There's just something about going to a supposedly "special dinner" in what looks like nothing more than a prefab metal warehouse that's a tough hurdle for me to overcome.

What was the total bill w/ drinks, tax and tip included? Just curious how the price point compares.

Fried fish topped with lump crabmeat and butter sauce. How daring.

O'Brien's is my favorite steak place in the New Orleans metro area. I'm also a huge fan of their BBQ shrimp.

I've not been to O'Briens, but those prices are on par with any of the finest restaurants in town.

I would have a hard time dropping that kind of coin on the Wank.

I've heard it's good, but it sounds like a place that should be in New Orleans. I'm not interested in fine dining on the Westbank right next door to a daiquiri shop and a storage place.
