Is the new "pray for a walk/error" college baseball style affecting attendance?

It seems attendance is down for many schools this year in college baseball. (actual attendance that is)
Or are people not making enough money for the Box prices? (seriously, I don't know. I live out of state and don't make it to the new Box often. When I do, I have tickets I buy cheap from a relative who owns season tix)
Maybe it's because people expect NC or bust every year and when we lose a few, they completely lose interest. However, this wasn't a problem in 05-07.
IMO, it's a combination of not being perceived as a team who can win it all and the fact that this new style of game is like watching 7 year olds play coach pitch. Just praying for an error.

It's super cheap to go to baseball games.

You don't have to pray for an error in coach pitch

That and 75% of the SEC games are on TV.

They won't be next season so hopefully that drives crowds back up. Plus the new ball.

The style is hurting attendance. No one wants to watch a snooze fest. The 09 bats were perfect but the NCAA hates baseball. You know it is bad when the greatest fans aren't even packing the stadium half full on Saturday

Actual attendance is considerably down and I do believe the boredom factor for the way the game is played now is affecting actual attendance.

The cost has not affected me at all. I've turned down free tickets may times. I love the game of baseball, but the games are not near as enjoyable as they once were. Especially for kids. I can appreciate a good pitchers battle, but a day at The Box with your son(s) has been ruined by the NCAA. Omaha is still on my bucket list, but I can't justify spending the money to get there versus the product I'm going to see. The product in general and not just LSU. The sounds of spring should include "ping".

i used to hit my bosses up for their tickets every year. There were always some available. I really have no inclination to go. The game has been neutered to the worst degree, and yes, attendance is suffering.

Main thing here. I believe college baseball needs the 09-10 bats back.

I can too, as long as it's the pitchers actually dominating. But watching fly outs is not exactly a pitcher dominating.

yep. MLB is a LOT more interesting to watch than college baseball now.
MLB still has some pretty prolific stars and hitters in it. I wish they would juice the ball a little more (tighten, not steroids), but overall, I think it's a great mix of speed/power in the game now.
College baseball literally has no power element to the game. If it isn't a pull HR that the wind carries like on Friday night, it's a fly out. no such thing as a double in the gap to the wall anymore.

will never go back to those bats, sadly

The NCAA has taken a great product, one that was growing across the nation, and turned it into a snooze fest. Its one thing to sit through a game with seven combined hits when two outstanding pitchers are dueling it out. Its actually a treat to see that type of pitching. It's another thing to sit through a similar game with limited hitting because the equipment was designed to reduce the offense.

See, I was offered to go 1 week back, but I didn't feel like making the trip from TX to go. It's not a bad drive and it used to be a fun weekend, but I just have no real want to see 7 bunts, 6 combined errors, 12 combined walks, and 5 seeing eye singles accoutn for 99% of the offense. Maybe I'll get lucky and see McMullen pull one that clears the wall by an inch.
So, I went to see the Astros attempt baseball vs the Angels instead. Granted the Astros suck, but it was still entertaining to see Hamilton and Trout go deep. Or to see a few doubles to the gap.

If either team gets ahead by 4+ runs, the game is over.

This. In 2007, this was not the case.
