It's time we do this again. Here's a link that will allow The Deniers to calculate the wondrous and magnificent ways that Obamacare will save you money.($2500 a year !)
If you don't have dependents, imagine you have a wife and three kids and enter them in too to experience the GREAT SAVINGS that I have!

I assume this post is supposed to be sarcasm, but speaking personally I have $85 a month more in my pocket as a result of the Humana Gold plan I picked up after the ACA came into effect.
No subsidy, but my premium dropped 43 a month and my prescription costs dropped around 40 a month as well. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Did you deductible go up?

The cheapest plan for me costs 2x what I already pay through my employer (and that's even taking into account the massive $13 subsidy).
If my fiancee and I stay here in BR (she lives and works in NY, so she may be changing jobs) and she gets a comparable job here the cost jumps from the $220 the site quotes me alone ($207, counting the subsidy) per month to $445 per month, no subsidy.

Mine for my family of five went from $432 a month to $1055 a month and my deductible went up.
Edit for accuracy-Deductible stayed exactly the same.

I didn't go through and look at drug cost comparisons... But for a bronze plan, my premiums stay the same for what I pay in right now with my employer, however, my deductible jumps 100%.
I'd imagine if I got into the nitty gritty that my plan with my employer would more equate to a gold/platinum plan on there and my premium would go up about $50-75 a month. So 25% or so

I am not sure what kind of policy's people around here have, but that is not far off from a BCBS cadillac plan prior to the ACA.
We have 2 options with my employer.
1. Single plan - 462.00
2. Family plan - 1100.00
Both plans are a 350.00 deductible and 100% after that.
The new plans just rape you on out of pocket and deductibles.

I have.
We no longer have to go to that pediatrician we have used for the last 12 years!
We get a new one that somebody smarter than ourselves chose for us!
We didn't have to do a thing !
They chose one for us!
Yeah Societal Progress !

Do you know what time all the Obamacare proponents (besides us) get here to than us for this link that allows them to document the tremendous savings we will experience?
Because I have to go to work and I don't want anybody to be able to say they were "surprised" by the amount they will save.
Forward!

Assuming I got the cheapest option available to me, my monthly payment would increase by 50% and my deductible would increase by 370%.
Thankfully I am on an employer plan. Went with a high deductible HSA option as I never ever go to the doctor nor need any medication. I'm not looking forward to the employer mandate.

Sorry for the slow replies, I don't check here too often and forgot I had posted.
No, my insurance after Jan 1 is better in every measurable way than before except my pcp changed. I don't like my new pcp as much as my old one but I'm the type of person who cares more about my bottom line than personal relationships with people I see maybe 4 times a year.

But we were told by Mr Prez that we could keep our doctors

Mine went up 15% with an increase in deductible from $1500 to $2500 and increase in copays. But I'll be Ok. I'll just give employees smaller if any raises and limit bonuses. So, I'll probably come out ahead.

Are you single? How old are you? Dependents? Getting subsidies? Give us some perspective on how/why it is "better in every measurable way"?
And what are your thoughts on my $7476 annual increase without getting better benefits?

To be fair, my insurance pre January 1 was complete drivel, for all intents and purposes a catastrophic type plan of plan that was costing me 270 a month and covering essentially nothing, but it was the best I could get. I have much more covered now than before and like I said my prescription costs are down as well.
The plan I'm using is the Humana Gold on this page that is still available exactly as I purchased it back in November:

37, married, but my wife gets her insurance through her work and what I can get through her is even worse than what I had before. No kids and none planned.

I honestly find that hard to believe. You can see I'm paying 2724 total annually on my plan. I can't claim to understand why the plans would be that divergent based on geographical differences.

He also said he couldn't keep his Doctor (PCO). I guess he didn't like his Doctor.

I just saw this. It seriously pisses me off that the cheapest private plan I could get had me paying 270 a month for crap coverage that I almost never used while a family of five got coverage that I assume was pretty decent based on the fact that the new plans cover less for $432 a month.
I'm sorry your prices went up, but that was a sweetheart deal before if it was a private plan.
