I have a hard time understanding that Auburn went 9th and 12th respectively and played for a National Championship? Go watch film, but I'm certain you won't recognize what you're looking at. He only had 25 solo tackles all season. That's less than 2 per game. Not going to cut it for a MLB.
Auburn went 9th and 12th in what?
Where do you get your film, what qualifications do you have for studying it? You know all of LSU's play book, coverage schemes, and assignments?

14/124, pretty damn close to elite.

rushing and total SEC defense. All you have to do is watch any game film and watch 31. It's not difficult. He sucks and LSU needs to figure it out.

We were 3rd in rushing D and 3rd in total SEC D.

And 3rd place in the West. We were 14th in total defense nationally.

Please put down the XBox and realize that there are other things besides raw physical talent that factor in to who plays.

Well, in that case the answer is luck. They got lucky in the Georgia win. And a huge coaching mistake by Nick Saban allowed them to win the Alabama game.

I'm going to take this indirect non answer to mean that you study the ESPN, CBS, and Cox broadcasts. Which aren't exactly great for analyzing individual play.

I'm going to take this as reinforcement of my opinion that you're an idiot who believes that watching broadcasts of games qualifies you as a better judge of players than the coaching staff.

You've pretty much said the same opinion with nothing new in like 5 posts now. We get it.

I don't play Xbox, but you're right. Here's the problem. Welter lacks size and speed, especially lateral speed. He takes poor angles, he fails to keep his outside arm free, which is critical to playing LB, especially MLB. He does not shed blocks well. He stands straight up. He doesn't recognize simple plays like whams and traps. He runs around blocks without the athleticism required to do that successfully. He cannot cover backs out of the backfield. He's too small to defend against TEs. He is passive. He may be smart and know all the right calls, etc...That is important, but if your scheme is so complex that you have to sacrifice ability in order to get lined up correctly, then maybe the scheme is too complicated. MLB may be the simplest, most natural football position to play. There are very few things to remember. It is the essence of football. You have to have a desire, an attitude to play there. He possesses almost none of these skills. Some of you here are soooooo sensitive. I want LSU to win. Just go watch the link in this thread of him at the Spring game. He's awful! LINK

Did he hook up with your girlfriend or pissed in your Cheerios? He had to of pissed you off in some way to deserve this much hate haha
And it's 2014 coach and LSU refers to it as ICE for isolation on the linebacker. (I'll draw it up for you if you need a visual)
Thanks spuds, we are all now dumber for having read all of your 37 comments. You are awarded no points and God have mercy on your soul.

I saw mention of the fact that Welter only had 25 solo tackles as the 2nd leading tackler on the team. Barrow who was 1st in tackles had 23 solo. Barrow had 1.5 sacks vs 2.0 for Welter. They were also close to even in tackles for loss. Barrow ranked 9th in the SEC in tackles and Welter was 15th. Mills was 31st and Kwon 37th. Ego was the only other Tiger in the top 50 at 48th. The fact that Lotson as SS was not top 50 is surprising.
One interesting stat I saw was that we ranked 6th in the SEC in sacks (behind Vandy and Arkansas)and I can guarantee that our upfield pressure by our DEs and DTs was avg at best. I get that Welter struggled at shedding blockers, but Chief likes his LBs in the 220's and 230's so they aren't going to stand up too many 300+ guards and centers or 250 Lb FBs. LSU lists Welter at 235, but I bet he's closer to 225.

Can you read?
Never said anything in the post about Jarvis Landry, who is an animal and will be an great NFL receiver.
Nope nothing from USL, or ULL or UL, or SLI
If you would try and re read my post you would see that the date of origin is 2009. Today's year date is 2013. (Now you can tell all your friends you learned something today)
In 2009 he was 2 inches shorter and 20 lbs lighter and ran a 4.48 at an underclassman combine.
Did I explain that enough for you spuds or do you need me to draw a timeline with pictures and pop ups?
