Want to start following a club

I love soccer, but haven't ever kept up with a team. I don't want to just bandwagon either. Convince me of a good club to be a fan of. If you're a fan of that club, explain why. Thanks ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Leicester City will be in the EPL next year and appears like they will have some staying power.

you need a club for the people, who despite no money keep in upper half of the table
111 years in the top flight, a record

You're a year late to jump on the Liverpool pain train without being considered a bandwagon fan
But seriously as an LFC fan, after years of frustration, it's fantastic to see what Brendan Rodgers is doing with this club. They're playing a great style now and really look sharp.
Leicester is also a good choice

Don't make the mistake of picking someone who just avoids relegation and then signs a popular US player.

This club season is almost over. I would watch the World Cup and see which players you like from there. Of course, you run the risk of a player you like getting sold, but it is a good way to maybe find a team since I can find no real reason for you to pick a specific side.

I've followed Everton for about 7 years now. It took some time to become the diehard that I am today, but it's totally worth it once you're 'All In'.
I chose Everton partly because they aren't one of the top powerhouse clubs that many other people in The States follow. Watching Tim Cahill go beast mode off the bench against Japan in the 2006 World Cup also played a huge role in why I looked into supporting them. Tim Howard being a regular on the squad, and Landon Donovan joining for a short time on loan were just added bonuses.
Also, the history of the club is absolutely incredible. Think Detroit Tigers or Cincinnati Reds. One of the most historic clubs, but were essentially passed up as time went on, but we're still always a competitive side.
Other teams you may want to give a fair shake:
Leicester City (Up and comer)
Southampton (Young, energetic squad)
Tottenham (I dislike them, but it's a good side to follow)
West Ham (Crazy fricking fans, they're famous because of it)

Sheriff Tiraspol. Dominant club, however they're fairly new so you can be a part of the history instead of learning one. With a few more Brazilian or African signings, they'll be in the Champions League group stages in no time. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Have you played FIFA yet? I wouldn't jump on a bandwagon, before you have a chance to virtually play with them.
