We get hundreds every year. You can't defeat them...only hope to contain them. I usually just try to kill as many as possible. Get creative...poison spray, diesel and a match, stomp on them....you get the point.

You got kids? Turn them loose. I used to love screwing with those little blue and yellow caterpillars.

Any plant nursery will have a poison you mix with water and some other chemical to help it stick to trees and plants. Cost about $18 if I remember from last year. You only use a little bit so it should last a long time.

Last year all my shrubs and bushes in front yard were getting devoured. Got the spray and back Yard never got hit.

those are buck moth caterpillars and they are damn tough to deal with because most of their lives are spent either underground or high in the trees...

Just buy the seven dust liquid, hook it to your water hose and spray it on the bush or tree.

Buy a bag of granular talstar. Spread twice a year in your yard. Controls ants, fleas, and other critters also. If that don't get the catapillars spray with sevin when you see them.

If in doubt, I always revert to Sevin liquid and spray. Highly effective, yet safe for animals.
