Hell just to have him go through camp and pre season with are young corp would be worth it.

I wouldn't mind signing him. He obviously knows how to play the position better than most and could definitely be a leadership/mentor type guy who can help develop White and Robinson and play on a rotational basis or in the case of injuries.
There's always a chance he has some left in the tank and the conditions weren't right for him last season. I would consider the risk worth it purely based off that and what I said above.

He ain't playing for vet min. No idea why anyone thinks this.
He doesn't exactly have suitors lining up for him.

While true, right now, that won't be the case as training camp gets closer.

Probably why the Saints want to bring him in now while interest is probably low.

Maybe. I just can't see vet min. I would love to be wrong. That would be all reward, very little risk.

Pat O Rly said we arent signing any vets. This has to be an april fools joke

I wouldn't mind having Champ Bailey on the defense! He may still have some gas left in the tank, and if they can get him at a decent price, I say go for it!!

Maybe he's a wrestling fan in town for Wrestlemania 30? ETA: I wouldn't be shocked if we saw guys coming into town this week(end) for the event.

This signing too me would be comparable to us signing Sharper. He has great instincts and would be a solid #2 CB for us.

quote:He is, and it's sad... He was so dominant for so long. He has really fallen off the last two years, though. And I have to point to injuries and time missed as the culprits. His speed, which was once a strength, has diminished a good bit, and the game has passed him up. He is still a great presence in the locker room.
Always loved Champ Bailey but yeah, he's done.
He was one of my all-time favorite players and I really hope he catches on somewhere.

#10 CB in 2012 according to PFF...I'd like to bring him in and see if he can get healthy.

quote:He was pretty good for a good portion of the season, but found himself injured and missed more time than he should have. His play, or lack thereof, was magnified in the playoff loss against the Baltimore Ravens...where Torrey Smith made him look pretty bad. Over the past 3 years, he has missed 15 games...and he had only missed 8 games his entire career before that.

He was be a great locker room presence, but I'm not sure what else he can bring to the table...maybe he can make a transition to safety, which is what I always expected him to do in Denver towards the back-end of his career.

This is what Pat said:
quote:Though I do have to say Champ kind of falls in line with that.
Old ones with health issues that are slowing or have been slowing down, yes, I find it unlikely. I really doubt we'd sign MJD. I mean they rode him hard, and RB's usually decline the fastest.
