I'll start by telling you the word is "advice".

Go spend the money on a solid investment/finance book. Try Intelligent Investor for a good read.

Put 50k in GILD and hold onto it for 3 years. U will have 150,000k. Marry your whore wife have a few kids and split your profits in the divorce.

Anyone think CVX is cheaper to buy than XOM right now? Just about every metric appears better.

Pick a company you like (apple, exxon, coke, philip morris, disney) and sign up for their dividend reinvestment program (DRIP). It usually takes about $250 to start.... send as much as u can, whenever you can..... This will motivate you learn more. Then your on your way.... It sounds simple and it is. (As long as you have the discipline to send money instead of buying another pair of sneakers u dont need).

whats your risk tolerance, goal and timeframe. are you looking to double up in 2 years? get started on saving for retirement? hedging against inflation?

the answer for most people will be blue chip stocks and index funds. if you want some get rich quick crap, go to a casino.
