Chunky River Fish Camp. Fillets of catfish, cabbage slaw, jalapeño hushpuppies, French fries, Cold beverage. Then Baskin Robbins for a double scoop waffle cone.
Treating the bride (MHNBPF) like a Friday night princess (Meridian style).
Stopped at the liquor shop on the way home and purchased massive quantities of bottled alcoholic fluid (bonded and otherwise). I impressed the young lad behind the counter, not necessarily with the brands, but certainly with the quantities.
My loved one and I are safely in the house now, awaiting the storm that, having moved directly over Mr. Balls, is now crossing the mighty Mississippi, headed toward Meridian.
The toadfrogs outside seem to be moving toward higher ground. What could that mean?

Is Big Daddy's still in existence , just down 80 from the fish house?

Hi Mr. Oats. Dig Daddy's I do not know, so it may be gone. The prison is east of the mighty Chunky, which is rising fast and may leave the banks by morning, from the look that radar shows of the next band of t-storms.
You aren't referring to the Red Door BBQ stand? If you are, it is (sadly) no longer open. There is a Big Daddy's Rib Shack on MLK in Meridian and I am somewhat embarrassed to say I have not tried his ribs. He does make a good pulled Pork Sammmich that I have purchased a time or two.

No. Big Daddy's...the legendary bar on US 80 was a few miles east of Chunky. If it is dead, may it rest in peace.
Maw Shumates whorehouse...is it still up and running?

I will ask my guys about Big Daddy's. They will know all there is to know about fact and legend. I stopped worrying about whorehouses over 50 years ago. But I will make some inquires with Sheriff Sollie concerning Madame Shumate. That is a family name I do not recognize but there are several prominent families in town I have not met during my years here.
