ive sports content is gold. Local TV deals have skyrocketed the last few years. About time the players got a piece

Oh, I don't think players are overpaid at all. I think the wrong players are paid at the wrong times. (Pujols, Hamilton, ARod,etc.)

Paying a guy 30 mil per till he's 40 doesn't make much sense. THe Tigers will be lucky to get 3-4 good years on that contract.

Cabrera + Verlander in 4 years is going to be 60 million dollars worth of mediocrity a year for the Tigers.

The fact that you have 162 games vs. 16 games, tends to eliminate the flukes.

This is why I think baseball really determines who the true best team was that year more than Football does.

I don't believe so. MLB payroll is tricky but I believe it's the best setup of any American professional sport

Those 42 are usually the 1 or 2 run games that could be won by either team that brings the parity

Do you know what parity means? Because this sentence does not make sense

I also feel that the salary cap in the NFL really waters the product down and prevents us from having truly great teams and/or dynasties. It's been proven that people love dynasties. It's good for ratings, as people want to watch them fall. Instead, we get teams that have a great QB, but have to field shite WRS or a shitty Defense because they're out of money.

This must explain why the NFL has higher ratings....

Don't confuse the sport's popularity with thinking it's the payroll system that's the reason.

People generally like football more than baseball because the general public doesn't want to think and just wants to see people hit each other.

I'd argue that if the NFL had a system similar to the MLB, then they'd be even more popular.

I don't understand the "players are overpaid" mentality. Who would y'all rather get the money that the sport generates? The owners who don't do shite?

NFL has higher rankings because of how this country is now days. They want to see big hits, violence, and stuff like that. Baseball is a thinking mans game and thats not how people are anymore. I truly believe that baseball is the greatest sport on earth.

Dude, the Astros haven't won 60 since 2010.

Yeah, when you are purposefully tanking seasons, that pretty much wipes out my statement
