Two different halls for sure, but given we are by any measure a top 10 all time football program and MAYBE a top 40 at best BBall, kind of interesting we have these numbers.
Also shocking when you think we have the two players who hold the all time scoring marks for all 4 years (CJ frosh, PM soph-senior) and Oneil, yet we were only ever a top 10 or so bbal power for maybe 6-8 years.

I'll wait for the final paper. I hate reading rough drafts.

highly debatable.

ok, but Sporting News, CFN and SI annual survey of this has us 10-12 before this past season and Penn State and TN were 9-10 so if we have not pased them we almost certainly will in next few years and no one is passing us (UGA and UF were just behind) Maybe we are at lower end of top 10, but we are top 10 overall by most accounts.

Being a Tiger fan I'd like to say we are a top 10 team of all time and if not then top 13 at the least. Just saying a lot of teams who haven't had much recent success may be forgotten in this conversation.

We're number 11 in all-time wins and our winning percentage is slightly better than number 10. So its not too far fetched to consider us an all time top ten program.

Folks, we were terrible at football for a long time there. When our football players from the past decade become eligible, the numbers will start going up

Uh, no.
The 1990's were the only decade in LSU history where we were sub-500. And even then we were close to .500 at 54-58.
Now, the 90's did include the worst stretch in LSU history from 1989-1994. Is this what you are calling a "long time?" Six years ???
Even so, we did win 26 games and 3 bowl games from 1995-1997. Did those like...never happen ?? 1998 and 99 were only 2 losing years.
Prior to 1989, LSU had only had 3 losing seasons in the previous 32 years.
Also, prior to Satan's happy arse landing in Baton Rouge, LSU was #12 all-time NATIONALLY in number of NCAA victories, and #10 in bowl appearances.
Today, we are #10 and #8 respectively. Not a huge jump by any means.

LSU actually was ranked in the Top 20 in AT LEAST 14 seasons, if not several more:
1935, 1953, 1970, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 2000, 2006, 2009.
LSU also has been to 5 Final Fours (if you count 1935 when we won our 1 NCAA title), and been to at least 10 Sweet 16s.
We only 3 to my knowledge in the NBA HOF:
Pettit, Maravich, and O'Neal.
I think LSU is at best a Top 30 all-time basketball school, Top 35 at worst.

Mamoud Adul Rauf - You are surprisingly elected to the NBA Hall Of Fame for your great free throw shooting skills.
