I saw Bon Jovi open for Ratt and Alice in Chains open for Van Halen.

Yep. Zac Brown used to live across the street from me in college.

Saw the Kings of Leon open for the Strokes in November 2003 at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. Went and bought the first album the next day. Sat next to a girl that only came to see the Kings of Leon. I though that was dumb before they started.
My mom had the Box Tops play at her prom.

I used to see Bruce Springsteen and his band playing all the time in Richmond in the early 70's

Yep, saw the Allman Bros. and Electric Light Orchestra in our area before either became famous.

311 the first time they played at the Varsity around 1992/3, right before Grassroots came out.

We used to laugh at how bad "Creed" was at Bullwinkle's in Tallahassee...think they called themselves Naked something or other; they were "Turrible" as Chales would say.
Sister Hazel played Floyd's in Tallahassee and Gainesville quite a bit before they hit big also.
My younger days were pretty blurry but am pretty sure that I saw Guns n Roses at either Cowboys in Dothan or Spinnaker in PCB right before Sweet Child hit big.

The Avett Brothers played the Kentuck Arts Festival in Northport in 2006. They've since gotten really big

Saw Bob Seeger in the early 70's.
I'm alright with his music, but the man puts on a great show.
Same with Springsteen. I don't care for his music, but I saw him at the BR Auditorium and he played for 3.5 hours and didn't stop until they turned the lights on. Ha.

Before many people heard of them, I saw Maroon 5 open for Cowboy Mouth at The Varsity.
I remember thinking at the time that I've seen much worse opening acts before. A couple of years later, they were more popular than Cowboy Mouth ever was.

Bonnie Raitt at the Brass Rail, or Hawks Tooth, (can't remember exactly) in 1976.

My cousin is Robert Earl Keen and when he plays here in Houston @ Rockerfeller we'll go back stage and say wut up.
My grandmother made the neck ties (bolo ties) for ZZ Top and were often at her house. We had dinner with Dusty quite a few times as a kid. They used to live nearby as well.
Before I was even a fetus, my mom worked at a hotel in Singapore and the Beatles would always ask her to join them after her shift. She went to their room on a few occasions with some other girls just to hang out - no hanky panky thankfully.....or so she claims. Sucks b/c my dad could've been Paul, Ringo or John. I hate you dad!

I watched Zac Brown Band perform in the upstairs loft of a downtown B'ham bar in front of a crowd of about 40 people about a year or two before they hit it big.

I saw Stanton Moore playing drums for a random All State Jazz band show when he was still in high school. He was phenomenal even back then.
