Great thread. I'm 29 and my post 9/11 is about to furnish me a degree. I don't know what the frick I want to do though.

But part of me is on the same page as you. Since I've been out for so long, what would be an easy degree?
I see the appeal of an "easy" degree, but if you're only able to take a couple of classes each semester, I'd really give some serious thought to working toward an undergrad that would open up your ability to be employable.
Engineering, accounting, nursing, et. al.

I enjoy the company I work for (for the most part). They would give me as much time as I needed to get my degree, and pay for it (as long as I didn't completely screw up).
My thinking is it would be very beneficial to have an engineering degree, and would definitely give me opportunities that my current company couldn't offer. For loyalty sake, moving to a different company would be REALLY difficult.
The other side of it is to go generic/simple as possible and bank on this company forever.
For the record, I feel playing it safe would be the most obvious answer IF I had to pay my own tuition

the guy is basically saying he just needs a degree. he is in a solid company already. i dont know what he does but he stays with this company for the long haul, an engineering degree might be pretty worthless.

Sounds like a business degree concentrating in the needs of your employer, accounting, marketing, management, etc.

I have to deal with alot of math in my line of work. Specifically alot of trig, calculus, and geometry.

I have a BS degree that I don't think necessarily does much for me, but I think it will benefit somewhere in the near future (long story).
It's never too late. Get in the frame of mind to do it, and kick any challenges in the balls. Always tell yourself you are gonna do it, and get it done.
