Plane was hijacked and landed somewhere
I think they had 1000's of kilo's of Heroin in the plane and it landed somewhere remote then put in a submarine. This search is causing a distraction while they get the product to its destination

Bad thing is, we'll have to listen to days of I told you so from those who are right.
Not sure why. It's a guessing game at this point by everyone. I chose my scenario just based on the fact it logically fits the known facts, but I have about as much a chance of being right as anyone, except those claiming alien abduction.

Off topic, but wasn't it you who posted the cool pics of the northern lights a while back. You don't have a link to that, do you?

That may be.
Bo Rein's Cessna was going from Shreveport to Baton Rouge and went through a storm. It veered off-course and kept going. They never found the plane so they are not sure what happened, but the air national guard made contact with it shortly before it crashed in the Atlantic.....way, way off course.
I really didn't think hypoxia was that likely on a huge commercial jet with all the safeguards and masks, but it's possible. It's happened before on Learjets.

CNN now with breaking news that jet lost radar contact at Pulau Perak, a small island in the Straits of Malacca, hundreds of miles west of the intended flight path.

prevent a crash in a highly populated metropolitan area
While I'm not sure if I agree or disagree whether a government would shoot down a plane, I disagree that, at the point at which the last known location is currently being marked at, there was a risk of it hitting a populated area.

it's possible that could be in error too, though. Something will turn up and things will look a lot less mysterious than the do now. My prediction is they'll have a pretty good idea of what happened within a week.

I'll say they crashed on or near this island in an attempt to land somewhere besides the water.

I'm curious of what would be better, land or water, in a decently controlled descent?
I know there has been belly flops in the water and on land, but is there a preference?
