Don't do it. My family lasted about 3 months and went back. You don't save much money, after subscriptions and faster web speeds.

Uh.....? My gf has the preferred internet package(25Mbps) at like $45/mo. Free OTA, she's on my Netflix acct, and doesn't pay for huluplus

Before she dropped cable, her bill was ~$135/mo. That's a little more than $1000/yr savings, and on a student's budget, that is pretty significant



Eta: If I lived there, she could ditch the internet all together because I can tether my phone as a hotspot and get 50Mbps

I already pay for netflix...what other subscriptions would i get?

we since I already have the fast web speeds and Netflix and whatnot, pretty sure it will save me $140/month

We already had fast enough internet speeds from Eatel. Had Directv for cable because I got things on there I didn't get from Eatel's cable packages.

We went from paying almost $100 extra a month for DirecTV to having a subscription to Netflix and Hulu Plus, each costing about 8 bucks.

i save $100 and have access to more than I ever did with cable .

My breakdown was basically

Cable $95
No cable $65

I went back .. Seems like many others are saving enough to justify though.
