True, I have used my buddy's MLB TV account when I travel, but at $25/month I might as well pay for cable.
Also, for some reason, local broadcasts are blacked out. I can only watch the Braves on MLB TV if i am out of market....

That's because you are suppose to be watching it on the tv service that "you" bought. You might be able to make the website think you are not in the market location.

It's $109 for the entire season if you don't need the atbat app on mobile devices. I paid over $100 for my DirecTV per month and part of the reason it was so high is because I had to have some extra package to get the Fox Sports I needed to watch the Rangers.

There are ways around this

$109 isn't bad for the season, I just didnt think I could watch local market games with MLB TV?

You aren't supposed to but like I said there are ways around it. You just have to trick mlb.tv into thinking you are somewhere else by using vpn or a proxy.

Is their a benefit to subscribing to Hulu Plus along with Netflix?
Am I correct that Hulu Plus puts up shows that came on yesterday?

I havent had cable in about 3 years and I dont miss it. I have wifi with all the streaming services and a Mohu Leaf Plus antenna. I get most Saints games on my tv in HD and the local stations come in better than I had with cable.
If i cant pick up a game I just go to a friends/bar/family's place to watch it.
One of the best decisions I've ever made. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Ive saved thousands $$$$$$!
eta: I have both Amazon Prime and Netflix for streaming shows and movies, but if I could only have one I'd go with Amazon Prime simply for the added perk of free two day shipping on their products.

I am considering going with Hulu Plus along with my current Netflix. Most of the shows we watch are on ABC (sidenote, I dont understand why the ABC App is free on iPad or to watch on computer, but cost on Apple TV).
My wife is worried about losing, gasp, Bravo. I know I can watch it online...looking for a TV alernative.
Little bummed about losing Fox SPSO and Braves games.

For Mickey Mouse downloading, I heard you can read my post in this very thread, never tried it myself b/c I don't do that stuff. But I am 100% positive it works, though not because I do it everyday or anything....

It takes a pretty high level of tech savvy, correct?

That is correct...although there are some shows on the major networks (lookin at you CBS) that aren't on Hulu+. That said, that network's website streams the latest 2-3 episodes that aired live along with a couple of other random ones from earlier in the season it seems.

May go Hulu+ to appease my wife. She will feel better about that than having to watch stuff on the computer or mirror from iPad, etc.

I personally use Netflix, Hulu+ and Amazon prime...although I RARELY watch anything on Amazon and use it more for the shipping. I just recently got my Antenna hooked up in the office back when the Olympics were on and it was pretty awesome.
I've been without cable/dish for 3 months...but prior to that I only had one dish box on my downstairs TV and used Roku's in the other rooms upstairs so I didn't have to pay $10 per month per box. The only thing I ever went downstairs to watch TV for was sports, and I've pretty much got that covered now between the antenna and computer streams.
Good luck on your venture

Not a ton, just be ready to search for a few answers along the way. The TL;DR way to look at it is:
Usenet.net subscription, and a newsgroup reader like Newsbin Pro to use that subscription.
Sickbeard and Sabnzb, both free. Set up Sabnzb, then Sickbeard.
And finally, Plex. That shoots out whatever you have downloaded (Brazzers and all, so be careful with which directories you point it to) to every device you own. As a neat caveat, Plex, with a subscription, will shoot you your media anywhere, not just at home. I'ma find that link real quick, the one that I have definitely never used.....

There, read through Ultimate Usenet guide, and see if you want to tackle it.

Wow, that's pretty ambitious.
I just picked up a middle of the road antenna at WalMarks just to see what I could pick up, the signal is great.
I honestly had forgotten you could get HD over the air now...

A few more questions on this, does anyone have experience with TIVO or any other OTA DVR option.
Only problem is a few shows on E! and Bravo that the wife watches, which I can find via torrent. By that same token, if I am torrenting those shows, I suppose I can torrent everything and not need a DVR.

Jesus.
Just do it. If you don't like it you can get cable again.
