Labor Participation Rate
Lowest rate of employment since Jimmah Carter.
And we had Soviet adventurism during Carter.
Coincidence? I think not.

I'm all for blaming a litany of things on Obama and his inept administration, but seriously, what do you want us to do about Ukraine?
Threaten Putin?
Send over our boys?
Spend some more money?
OR, do we just let them control gas in Europe, while we control oil elsewhere.
We could freeze some assets and kick them out of the G8, but then they could begin taking oil in payments other than dollars, and that would sink our ship.
What is the solution when dealing with a despot such as Putin? I do not want another war unless someone is directly threatening us.
Anyone else think it is mighty coincidental that as we cut our military, that we are feeling pressure to get engaged overseas once again?

It's not a very big cut and doesn't really cut much in that region and NO naval cuts.
You're finding cause in something that is not substantiated at all IMO.

I am waiting to hear his malaise speech which will come too late to effect anything but the mid-term elections which he really doesn't give a shite about as he is in for the remainder of his term if there is nothing worthy of impeachment til '16.

You miss the point. The reason for the Ukraine invasion is the same as USSR intervention during the Carter years. Carter and Obama are weak. The Russians can do what they want to do because they recognized that Carter/Obama will do nothing.
The word you're looking for is 'deterrence.'

Beginning with Georgia, the "RESET", the decision not to put up a missile defense system in East Europe and his reliance on Russia to help us with Iran and Syria; Obama has made things worse and worse as far as Russia is concerned.
Steps taken years ago may have made Putin reluctant to invade Ukraine, but we'll never know now will we. All we can say now is what we don't want to do (use our military), make a speech, and write a check.
Couple all that with the recession that Obama can't put behind us, and we have some bigger problems than we would have normally.

Why would we not support the Ukraine? You guys confuse soft power and hard power and instead just push for no power?

Those pesky Republicans including Palin in 2008 and Romney in 2012 warned us about this very scenario. Obama told them both to go back to the Cold War days and get up to speed on current affairs. What else is this administration letting pass them by?

I'd prefer Carter to Obama.
Carter was a misguided, liberal idealist. Obama is an evil man bent on the destruction of the USA.
