It's a very good DIPA, but I wish it was in smaller bottles. It's a lot to drink at once!
Yes, a very good beer. I wish it was in smaller bottles too. Those bombers go down very easy though. Get my cell # from rds and text me. Your brother mentioned that you were looking for a beer.

I'm sure this will get lost in the wall of beers that is the FBD thread but I found it interesting and impressive that Oskar Blues changed up the recipe for Gubna every year and that this year's batch should be very interesting.
Oskar Blues Gubna Imperial IPA v 4.0 hits market
Oskar Blues Gubna Imperial IPA v 4.0 hits market
quote:
GUBNA v 4.0 is aggressively dry-hopped with the citrusy Chinook (this year’s legendary crop was especially complex), the tropical fruit and red berry notes of Mosaic, and the zesty lemon Sorachi Ace strain. Showcased on a base recipe of Rye (now double the amount than previously used), North American Pale, and Munich malts, these three formidable hop varieties are given free rein to assault the senses in a strangely schizophrenic symphony of bewildering bitterness, complemented perfectly by the pleasant warmth to be expected from that 10 percent booziness

Yes, interesting. I did not realize that the recipe changed every year.

Oh yeah. That reminds me. Tomorrow night I might be around Napoleon/st Charles with a keg of some bottomland brew. I'll keep y'all posted, but all FBDers are welcome to find me and drink if I get motivated enough to roll out the mobile keg setup.

FBD Ghost
This is excellent. Like everyone's said a near top level IPA. Glad to finally have a LA IPA that is worth seeking out

More breweries should do that and/or announce that there are changes being made.
The IPA crowd is such a fickle bunch that we need to have our attentions kept.

Holy carbonation batman! The bottles I've opened haven't been nearly as carbonated as that!

I did a pretty aggressive poor release the hops

That is an interesting strain of hops. My wife said it tastes like it has a jolly rancher in it.
