If I bought a PC 7+ years ago, there's no way it could run the games of today.

If he were smart with his money, he would have bought the cheap arcade version of the xbox (as he did), then bought a 250gb hard drive from gamestop for 69.99ish.

Hell, I found two people on CL selling 250gb hard drives for $20.00

It's called marketing. The 4gb console is positioned to a different target market.
