This so called QB buzz is prob just smoke and mirrors. Or total bullshite.

exactly what i thought.

it's still early for the saints to draft a qb when they can win the next four seasons. address other areas of need. and the saints surely like the tulane guy any ways.

I don't think i could reconcile my life with a McCarron lead saints team. probably just go into a hole till he busts.

I think NO should only do it if one falls ala Aaron Rodgers or Brady Quinn.

Ex : Mett in late 2nd

Id be pissed if we didn't get an extreme value like trading up for Mett in mid 2nd round or something.

I think highly of Mett, but he simply doesn't fit our Vertical Scheme Offense we need a QB with great pocket awareness and good mobility. Mett has the strongest arm out of any prospect, but he's a statue and would better fit a complete ground n pound play action team. Honestly the perfect fit for him will be the Rams

Did you guys watch the video? It doesn't say they are "targeting a QB"... like not even close. It says they are doing their homework on all of the big name QBs in case one of them slips to us... and even then it doesn't say they will draft one of them, only that they want to know who these guys are and what they're all about in case the opportunity comes up (because, y'know, our scouts probably haven't spent a lot of time looking at first round QBs lately).

Bleacher Report is so bush league.

But it would be nice to grab a proven QB....or at least convince other teams were after one.

Why do people assume this? It's not like SP is that old and he's the highest paid coach (i think) here so why would he leave? Not being a dick just curious if you know something I don't or he's said this in the past?

If he ever leaves, he would have to be fired or retire with the intentions of never coaching again.

Highly doubt it. Ryan Griffin is Sean Payton's project right now. Curtis Johnson sold him to Payton last season, we just hired Neu to the staff and we've already blocked Cleveland from snatching him up. Until Payton is sure that Griffin isn't the answer, I think he'll be our heir.

this is a good idea. if great qb falls to 4th or 5th round in the draft, The Saints should think about it.

a friend of mine met Brees' agent in Vegas, and apparently he told him Payton would be leaving for Dallas when Brees retires.

which sounds like total bullshite to me.
