why would they setup the congressman and then leave a loose end that could bring down the whole thing...she definitely got rubbed out

I agree that would be the smart play. If I remember correctly some have thought she might have not been killed as she appeared to take a breath in that scene in the whorehouse. She was also innocent and didn't do anything to the family. But yeah, he was definitely set up.

That's where I was going with the question, per the assertion on the other thread. They also killed the woman who was in bed with the guy that gets machine gunned when Michael settles the family business. AFAIK she hadn't done anything wrong except hook up with a guy on the Corleone shite list.

We know they do IRL. There was a remark on another thread that the Corleone famly only killed those who had it coming.
