Anyone ever had wasp invade their home?? For the past few months I've found a few wasp in the house. This past weekend with the warmer weather we killed over 100 throughout the weekend. And not just one type, we've got Yellow Jackets and those big red wasp. I can't identify where they are coming from. I though it was one of my recessed lights but that has been proven wrong. I'm thinking of taping up the fireplace and taping paper plates over the recessed lights to see if this eliminates them. Then remove the tape one area at a time to reveal their location.

Any other suggestions???? What's a guy to do??

By the way, the Zapper fly swatter that LOWE's sells is BADA$$!!! It will send you to your knees!!!

Update: I taped off the fireplace and taped paper plates over the recessed lights and the wasp diasappeared. I removed the tape from the fireplace, still no wasp. I had one wasp show up in the recessed lights. So, I removed a recessed light and threw 3 bombs in the small subroof/ non accessible attic area. Within an hour I had about 30 dead wasp on the floor, I have no idea how they got out of the attic area. That was 2 weeks ago, no wasp since. F DEM WASP!!!!

The area they are in is where one of my subroofs are located, 2 story home. So, I can't access it from the attic. Or any other way without using a skill saw.....

This. And as it warms up they become more active and come out everywhere.

Look for access holes/cracks in the eaves/soffits? I don't know the right terms.

go around and caulk up all entrances to your home. (gaps between brick and wood, etc) once they cant get out and feed they will die.

My entire house is this way. Second floor prevents it. The true attic is way way up top.

There's really nothing you can do about them this year. Make sure to cover every access and put a long term pesticide around your house before the end of summer. Or, they'll be back next year.

This is what I was thinking also.

Are they dormant? Like when you find them in your deer stand opening day... Hold on, that was nowhere near dormant...

Are they in the bathroom/bedroom? If so they are coming in through the outside vent.

No, they are mainly in my living room area.

I'm gonna get on the roof with the caulk today. I've been needing to recaulk the flashing around my chimeny. Probably where they are coming in at.

Damn wasp!!!

I was haveing problems with them at my house a couple of years ago. I bought some Ortho home defense for termites and mixed it with water and found where they were coming and going. Killed some that way and then found them in my attic. Went up with the spray and cleared a path to run. Sprayed the nest down really well a few times and haven't had any other issues.

I cannot figure out how baby geckos get in our master bath. There is no room farther away from a door on the first floor.
