How good is Rajon Rondo?

How would you assess him as a player when healthy?

It's been so long since I've seen him play, but Lance Stephenson's game (this year) has reminded me of him. Could be comparable, but I'd like more time to see how he does without KG and PP full-time. He hasn't played in too many games yet.

He's a championship level PG when he doesn't have to carry a team.
If the Rockets get him, they get better. He is absolutely amazing come playoff time
Not sure if you were asking b/c the Rockets have been rumored to try and get him for a bit, but I think that moves the Rockets from fringe contenders firmly into contenders

Sure, if the Rockets get Rondo, they get better.
But if they get him and have to give up Parsons...?

He was a top 10 player in the NBA in 2012

i hate him because he's such a bitch, but the guy is arguably top 3 in pure passing PGs (in regards to passing vs. shooting pgs).
He has a motor that is non-stop and for his size he shouldn't be getting that many triple doubles or even averaging close to 5-6rebounds. Great defensive player and the only real knock on him is his FT shooting and jumper.

He did come from Kentucky, so no surprises here.

A poor man's Tim Quarterman, if you will.

Excellent, quintessential point guard. His first and second instinct is to create offense. mid range/perimeter offense leaves something to be desired but so did Jason Kidd's, who was very good on the perimeter towards the twilight of his career.
He needs to be on a team with a scorer to be at his best. He is not in this new age of PGs like Russell Westbrook (actually a true SG), Derrick Rose, or Deron Williams. He's a pure PG.

I actually don't like that move at all. I know originally it was supposed to be Asik and Lin to dump cap space for both teams later.
That move I hate

Top 5 PG.
pre-injury he was easily. Now the younger guys like irving, lillard and curry are just as good imo
All are behind cp3 and westbrook though

that move would be pretty dumb imo. he's pretty integral to houston. unless they're getting another shooter it's pretty bad, even if you're getting rondo

He is a ball pounder and you play 4vs5 on offense if he is missing the 17ftr
He was a top 5 defensive player before the injury
I don't like a rondo/parsons trade for Houston because parsons is productive and cheap
Rondo can be incredibly divisive in a locker room because he will call a bitch out. Rondo and Dwight will be oil and water

What about rondo / green for parson asik Lin and pick(s)
Posted on 2/17/14 at 6:24 pm to Boomshockalocka
Zach Lowe says the Rondo price is two unprotected first round picks
Which is ridiculous.

Great PG. Kind of off topic, but is there a worse free throw shooting PG? Dude is pretty terrible at FTs.

I saw that Sacramento may be willing to do Thomas, Macklemore and 2 firsts. That would be an excellent deal for Boston.
