I appreciate everyone's interest and here are some updates:

1. House is still dark, Santa still presenting proudly as if 30 mins ago when I walked the dog as a decoy like in The Burbs

2. The one neighbor I trust to help with us unavailable as his grandfather died last night

3. I looked up name on Assessor's website. It's a common name but I don't know if young or old. Nothing in Advocate obit so if they're dead, they're in the house presumably.

4. Can't find much on person, nothing on linked in, Facebook, Twitter that I can find.

5. Wrote email to property management company managing HOA as it will be established at end of year (new development). They pay bills, no real rules yet.

6. I'm going back tonight and will report.
