You can tell the people who've never really done any fighting before. They probably believe there's a woman out there that could take Tyson too because look at all those belts she's wearing!
The difference in size is way past significant but even more so is the difference in training. Tyson fought to take your head off with every punch. And he trained to take them as well. Bruce never did. He was extremely good at what he did, and probably ten times smarter than Tyson, but if he was alive today he'd tell you that there's no way he could win a fight with Tyson to a knock out.

20 year old Tyson would absolutely destroy the tv karate man
this. stop watching "Enter the Dragon", that was just Hollywood. In fact, Kareem, who made a cameo in one of his movies, would have busted his arse IRL.

Ali, arguably the greatest boxer in history, learning some things from Lee is ironic in a thread where
Tiger Woods has a coach too.
Hell, even Tom Brady and Petyon Manning have position coaches.
THEY MUST BE BETTER THAN PEYTON?

NO.
He could have beaten him in his specialty, basketball, but not in fighting. Kareem was an awesome actor too...Airplane, FTW.

I agree with the size issue. You don't think that the difference in training could benefit Lee in the way I pointed out? Just in case you didn't read it I'll reiterate: Tyson has very little defense and no attack from the waste down. Lee isn't going to trade blows with Tyson. His strategy would need to be to attack his legs and move.

Mike Tyson's sparring partners generated more power in their punches than Bruce Lee could generate even in his kicks.
I don't think this is even possible, from a physics standpoint, if you consider jumping sidekicks.

What a stupid question.
If Bruce Lee was alive, I could kick his arse, and I'm a 51 year old man.
He is wildly overrated and hardly had any real fights.
In fact, he likely died from brain damage suffered doing fight choreography. In other words, he was killed by an actor.

Just a lil tidbit fact here guys, Bruce Lee knew how to grapple and get submissions also.
People that think Mike Tyson would just get to bullrush and slug and uppercut Bruce Lee all day must be too young to understand how much talent Bruce had. He wasnt just a movie star folks, he could knock a man out with a one inch punch. I can assure you.

You are correct. He was also a hype machine and great at self promotion. He wasn't involved in combat sports and didn't fight. I like his movies but that doesn't make him a fighter. I think many here don't understand what it takes to become a professional fighter, or even an amateur fighter. Countelss hours are spent sparring meaning taking and delivering shots. Actors don't take or deliver shots to anything but heavy bags when a camera is rolling. Lee was around 140lbs. In order to make this interesting we should be asking if Lee could beat the current Junior Welter Weight Champ and not Mike Tyson. I will tell you that I believe that answer is no as well.

No he couldn't. Furthermore, not Mike Tyson. He could make a man stumble into a chair with a one inch push though.

I agree, Iron Mike would probably laugh at anything Bruce threw at him standing up.

I think the real answer to this question is twofold.
If you took karate as a child and have not been in a fight since the 4th grade, Bruce Lee destroys Tyson without being touched.
If you have ever dabbled in MMA or any type of boxing, played a contact sport, and have been in a big boy fist fight, you know Tyson would win and it wouldn't be close.

What you have is called blind faith.

Check for all of those and I disagree. I train with alot of JKD guys and they know not to fight using their opponents style.
Since this question will never be answered, I think Bruce Lee wins just for the sake of this thing needs to make it to 50 pages.

You've watched too many movies. This is what a real knockout looks like...

Trying to paint it to be that youre a REAL MAN if you think tyson wins.
I swear, how old are you people? It was Bruce Lee's martial art that made him the famous movie star to begin with.
He wasnt a movie star first that learned karate. shite dudes.
