Has anyone here ever seen, or met, a Texas Ranger?

I was reading about the old west and decided to look up some info about the Rangers since they have such a famous reputation. I noticed that there are only 144 commissioned Rangers in Texas so the odds of ever seeing one must be very slim. I also found it funny that they are encouraged to dress in Western wear.

I've met Ian Kinsler. He's a pretty cool dude

My great great grandfather was a Terry's Texas Ranger in the Civil War.

Yes. Is there a question or was it just curiousity?

I was a waiter for Will Clark once. I think he was a Giant then, though. He was kind of a prick, but I kept his coffee spoon for some odd reason.

Although I don't doubt you, he is one of the most genuine nicest celebrities I have ever met.

Great great uncle on my dad's side was one. Been handed down his pearl handled revolver, but wish I knew more about his service days.

Yes, I live in West Texas have ran into few Texas Rangers. Joaqin Jackson lives out here and there is one stationed at the DPS office in Brewster County. They handle a lot of LE investigations out here because of the small size of the rural departments.

Tip was decent. He was just a bit short and standoffish, as I recall. He went to the bar afterward and wouldn't give the bartender an autograph (I wouldn't have asked for one and didn't). It's why I said 'kind of.' Probably should have cut him some slack and said nothing. It was some time ago.

The older ones definitely dress the part but no more so than any other Texas guy. The ones down in South Texas were more Western Wear type dudes but, again, so is most everyone else on the Border. The one younger one I ran into was more of a jeans and t-shirt type though. Everyone of them were cool guys though. There is a lot of history and hype to the Rangers but there primary mission these days are as complex Investigators.
