I want to start off by saying that i absolutely loathe cold weather when its not hunting season. That being said, since all the ducks and geese wait until February to come down to Louisiana, could yall please set the seasons to start mid December and end late February?

The feds set a window for the state to put a season inside of that time slot. The federal window isn't that big.

If you could see the mallards living on our place right now you would shite a brick. It is amazing. Standing on my porch you can hear the hens calling day and night.

It's always been that way. February is great to sell somebody on a new field or spot for next year because the ducks are always there. Conversely I've always made it a habit to only scout potential leases or purchases on what is around Dec-Jan.

I saw more mallards and pintails in Gueydan a couple of weeks ago than I have seen in years.

The thing that really gets me is the lack of rain all winter. After the season the heavens opened up.

Southeast Morehouse parish has more damn waterfowl than Carter's got little liver pills right now. Even the little Gaddy brake in my backyard is housing about 300 mallards, along with various other waterfowl of all stripes. Never seen more than a few mallards in that thing. Field down the road is holding thousands. Sky Carp are in every wheat field you drive by. You could certainly lease out some spots for next year if you took some sugarasses out looking around right now..

Paging LEROY

Do you fellas over at LDWF fly a February airy survey? would be interested to see if these birds we all see are simply spread out from where they hiding all season, or if the refuges are holding the same bird/increase and we just overall have increase in fowl in the Bayou state

FYI I dont have SUGARASS trademark but thats a good idea Ill have my counselor get on it ASAP

If anyone has garhole for lease I will take sugarass out to said garhole over the next few week and collect a lease check for next season. My commision is 1% and I will also be available to tell sugarass to suck on deeezzzz when he complains about no fowl next season
